Hey all,

Im going to buy DJ headphones but am not sure which to get, any suggestions?

Obviously everyone has their own tastes, but i just need someone to point me in the right direction, first of all they have to be strong i broke my last 2, (and i dont have a big head lol)

Bass is a must, whats best in ur opinion?

if youre looking for SERIOUS bass, the Ultrasone DJ1 or DJ1PRO have the best bass of any headphone I've ever tried. I have even played some subwoofer test tracks in these headphones, and they DID NOT distort whatsoever...which is pretty impressive for a 50mm driver (as opposed to the 10" or 12"+ subwoofers its intented for!)

i have pioneer hdj100's and they are spot on i think.

The Ecler headphones (don't have the model number handy) seem to be a rebadged Ultrasone DJ1. Maybe Soundwerks can comment. ;-)

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DJX-1s and they also have deep bass response (and don't distort). The earcups are smaller than some other headphones, so if you have large ears, it may rest on the earlobe or more.

Other recommendations you'll get are Sony MDR-7506s. A similar headphone is the Sennheiser HD-280 Pros, but they're bulkier and look awful when I'm wearing them. I'm not sure about the frequency response of the 7506's, but the HD280's don't have quite as much bass as say, the DJX-1 or the DJ1-series (it's designed to provide a more flat response).

the pioneer hdj 1000's have a freq response of 5Hz to 30kHz lol, whats the point !

piss contest?

The Pioneer HDJ-1000's are pretty popular, but the joint is prone to breaking, especially if you fold the earcups upward.

There are also accounts of people having them for at least 2 years without breaking, so your mileage may vary.

Sennheiser HD25's are the best imo.

Sennheiser HD25's are supra-aural, meaning the earcups rest on your ears. The construction of the HD25's are superb and are really durable.

HD25's are also ungodly expensive in the US. The cheapest I've found (for the HD25, not the HD25-SP which has a different headband) was ~$120, and that was in Hawaii of all places.
