thinking of taking a trip in the spring to central america, specifically either guatemala or el salvador..
my part-timer at work is from ES and she rants and raves that its the greatest place on the planet...so i'm leaning in that direction just so i can see what the hype is all about. i know this sounds crazy..but i really just like saying "guatemala" so that makes me wanna go there...
i'll mostly be shooting for a photo-book i'm working on, so either country will be photogenic enough to please.
anyone been to either? pros/cons of either? easiest place to obtain wonderful green bud for personal enjoyment? |

Guatemala 100%.
It's not only that I'm guatemalan, it's just that Guatemala has so much more things to offer than El Salvador.
For starters, the climate is soooooooo much better, El Salvador is mostly hot and damp.
Just take a look at these pictures:

That is something that El Salvador simply cannot offer. ;)
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me :) |

But seriously, there is so much more that Guatemala has to offer than El Salvador. I personally like to go to El Salvador every now and then...the people are awesome, they have nice beaches (nicer than the regular public beaches here in Guate), and cheap shopping malls...but that's about it :conf: |

Guatemala for sure!!!!
just stay out of the capital,
but i think that applies to most Central - south american countries.
they can be very dangerous.
and kidnapping ain't no joke.
stay out of
Mexico
Colombia
ok, back to Guate.
Antigua is very nice.
Be sure to stop by San Francisco el Alto, (my home town)
on a Friday Morning for the biggest market day in the country.
Quezaltenango (Xela for us locals) is where you should stay, and visit other places from there.
OHHH don't forget to try some Arroz con Leche.
THAT THING IS AWESOME!!!! |
