I am by no means a slob. I was just pointing out that we (at least the US, and I would assume by proxy, Canada to0) are using all this anti-bacterial this, anti-bacterial that. I by no means want mold growing on the ceiling of the shower, or anything like that.

And the people that seem to be more slobs are cat people. Look at their cars. They are ing MESSY!

edit//ffs I use a paper towel when I leave the bathroom. A slob wouldn't care and just touch the handle.

i totally agree on the antibacterial note
i know people who use that stuff obsessively, and not surprisingly they get sick more than most people i know

Cat people have messy cars? How did you put those together?

when i see "Lack of bacteria goes on a rampant killing spree" in the headlines, i will think about being dirty.

The development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has two parts:

1. People taking too many ing antibiotics.

2. People disinfecting everything, making their immune systems weak and unable to handle getting sick without taking lots of ing antibiotics.

These two things feed off of each other.

I thought it was because people don't finish taking their prescribed dose of anti-biotics because they idiotically assume that the infection is gone once they begin to feel better. Thus, the bacteria doesn't die, it simply quiets down, mutates, and comes back 200%

I have seen it a lot, and even some of my friends that are totally clean cat people have agreed. I can't explain the correlation, but holy it rings true to some of them. But I will cede that a dirty car for sure means you are a dirty person.

Exactly why I was making the point.

That's another thing.

But treating every infection with antibiotics also has the effect of killing off all the bacteria that aren't resistant to them, i.e. the only ones left are the tough guys, who are now free to spread.
