Guv's got some explaining/reimbursing to do, if you ask me and it's gonna be a long time before i step back into that place. I always appreciated how they gave us free tix for angello & ingrosso when sacha was absent. it seems that good will was a thing of the past. Also, the sketch factor towards the end was the worst i've ever seen in a club...and that's counting all of Ibiza. |
i know the reason why the drink closed early but i am not at liberty to say. i can assure you that it was not because they wanted to pack up the main room and it was not a fight. it had nothing to do with the club's management. |

They actually do that quite often.
They will sometimes cut off the last DJs set time if its not to busy or something and close down the rooms.
It happens most of the time actually...as far as I can remember.

anyways, my review: prob worst nights @ guv ever for me... maybe it was cuz i got picked up in waterloo from family dinner then had to drive to st catherines to pick up a friend then we hit mad fog and traffic so didnt end up getting to guv til 115ish. sober as hell, ordered as many drinks as i could to catch up... really didnt like how stanton warriors were in the drink... completely threw off the vibe imo. so i found myself rocking out to ferry with some tas on the left side. havent rocked out to trance for so long.... and i enjoyed it. went back to main and jammed for a bit and attempted acid but the sound was really crappy in there...then roaches getting cut off after like 2 songs really killed my mood. so i left. meh. |

I don't even know where to begin.
Arrived at guv just after 12... waited in line for nearly an hour I think, line was moving soooo super slow. I thought it was going to be PACKED. Thankfully it wasnt :)
Music:
I hung around Main room for about 40 minutes of Prydz. Meh.
He played some really good tunes, but it was up and down. I would be dancing hard for 2 tracks, and then standing to the side for another two.

Balloons were kind of annoying always attacking us.
Just before two I went into KH cause SOMEONE said 'oh duck oh duck ferry is on'. Hahaha or not. The last bit of MOs set was OK.
And then it was Ferry time....
Wow. I still cant comprehend. I hadnt been to a trance party in about a year, and it was like I was reborn. I was connected back to my origianl love for music. I got EVERYTHING I have been craving over the past couple months, everything was perfect.
I think 90% of the time my mouth was just wide open in awe. Im really glad he did play so many classics, pefect for a Ferry Noob like me, and it was nice to be able to recognize so many tracks considering I had abandoned trance for so long.
I popped into main room for a bit around 3:30ish... wasnt really doing anything for me. I was completely under Ferry's spell, after watching Mikey in comeplete heaven for 20 minutes, I ran back to corsten and crew.
After being blown away for another 2 and a bit hours (Youve seen a sample of at tracklist so you know what I mean) I decided it was time to pull myself away and witness the magic of SK..
KKKKKKKKKKKKKK. And 3 encores. Closed the place around 7:30. Mikey was in complete awe, I have NEVER seen anyone so happy at a club before.
Over all it was the perfect night musically. 'Everywhere is ducking ducktastic'. A night of epic trance and serious house bombs. I couldnt be happier. And it looks like I have returned to the trance scene.
Crowd:
Best guv crowd I have ever experienced. No one was pushy. People were polite and friendly. No creepers. Everyone just seemed to be equally into it and in love, in both rooms. And sooooo much room to dance. Even if you were front and centre there was still dancing room <3 <3
Highlights of the night:
1) OMG I LOVE TRANCE
2) Watching Mikey in pure heaven.
3) Stalking Sanders car afterwards so Michael could get another photo and a hug. <3
What definately made this epic was as always the company around me. You all know who you are and thank you.
Met a few more TAs as well :) Hope to see you all soon.
