mccain was firing blanks all night long like a man that knows he's lost while obama conducted himself like a true leader - like a greater leader than i've ever known in my life time. he outlined well-thought out policies on all the issues while mccain spent his time restating the obvious and putting words in obama's mouth. there was only one candidate of presidential material in that auditorium that night. for the first time in a long time i am hopeful of a brighter tomorrow because i am hopeful that obama will be our next president :D

Totally agree..

Yes, Obama came off cool and collected, while Mccain fumbled and bumbled.
This is the best choice for our country i'm sure.

Yes and now im drunk because i was playing the drinking game and "Joe" was the word to drink to. Good thing he didnt say "my friends" so much...
Direct
hahahaa we too had a drinking game.

We had to take a swig of beer each time Obama or Mccain would say econimy or energy

We had to take a shot each time Mccain would put Obama down or say my friends

And we had to chug a beer every time Sara Palin was brought up.

i understand your confusion because what i'm actually feeling is pride and hope in the future of american politics. pride in obama because he represents civility, intelligence and clear thinking, traits that have been lost upon the office of the president for years. throughout this whole campaign, he's been honest, direct, poised and pretty much everything you could expect out of a true leader. when's the last time you heard an american politician speak so directly to the issues, sticking to them in the face of constant slander and character attacks? obama didn't wince or cower away from a single attack or issue tonight. no matter how ridiculous, he disarmed everything mccain had against him while refocusing the discussion on what matters and he did it so naturally. i used to watch interviews of other world leaders who were under scrutiny in envy and embarrassment because of what america had to offer by comparison. i've become accustomed to cringing every time the white house had a press conference. after tonight, the hope that our country will once again move forward has become so real i can almost taste it. obama is the type of american leader that other world leaders will trust, respect and follow.

lol, mccain and his reliance on the "joe the plumber" crutch. never a more telling sign that the old battle axe is out of steam. did he honestly think his "joe the plumber" argument which maybe applies to 1% of america would hold water against obama's populist 95% of working class platform? poor old man has lost his marbles...

Look no offense but you are blind to some extent. The both of them really aren't that different if you really follow where they stand on issues. It is the campaigns that make the two seem vastly different. The supporters for each and the negative attacks etc. That is the only drastic thing that gets the two to be different from one another. Sure they differ here and there on some stuff, but in the end a politican does what is best, and both for the most part, have agreed on the majority of things. In this case, one is more eloquent then the other and so has the advantage to blind the uninformed. Not saying im going mccain, dont get me wrong, but having strong feelings like you do for one candidate and then almost going out of the way by making the other seem totally opposite and dumb is ridiculous to say the least.

did you watch the debate? sounds like the answer to that is no. while they campaign on centrist platforms for the sake of winning a national election, they are fundamentally different in their temperament, style of leadership, policies and ideology. if you want to compare them in the spectrum of extremes from hitler to ghandi, sure they are relatively similar, but in the scope of american politics they contrast greatly in how they approach the big issues. how can you say they are essentially the same person when one stands by roe v wade and the other thinks it's a mistake? one wants to begin withdrawing from iraq immediately because our role there is done while the other thinks victory means maintaining a large force there for possibly another 100 years? one thinks we should relieve working class families of burden and the other thinks we should relieve large corporations of burden? one thinks biden makes a good vp and the other thinks palin makes a good vp? i mean are you serious??? look i'm pragmatic. while i'd love it if the libertarians or greens took the white house and the role of gov made a 180 for the better, we're dealing with reality here and in the real world there is only mccain or obama. so hell yea i'm excited about obama possibly being the next president! i don't see how my enthusiasm makes me blind or sheep-like as some of you suggest, but whatever. it's not like you're the first cynic i've ever come across...
david.sound
honestly, i don't like either candidates. both plans suck. but i'm voting based on social issues. so yeah i'd probably vote for the candidate that fits with my beliefs. probably obama.
