| Yea, we had an office narc. But we all knew who it was. But I stupidly trusted this person and kind of told them what I do when no one's looking, mainly multi-tasking on the internet and playing with excel. |

Yes, SHE, snitched. Not on just me though. She would inform on everyone. Whether they were using the internet to watch a video or whatever. One of my co-workers had an especially nasty confrontation with her. I tend to stay out of office drama, but yeaaa.... |

| We have one on our floor but it's a guy. I only found out because I walked into the wrong board room and over heard part of a conversation. |

God, that bull. Everyone at my office knows we surf the internet in our downtime. Even my boss, he doesn't care that much as long as we get our done. He's a little bit of a stickler on that kind of stuff though, so if he sees us dicking around when he walks in, he either makes fun of us, or just yells "DO WORK".
Anyone who snitched on me for goofing off would get a sharp foot up the ass after work. |

Slylee sounds like a natural to be on a reality tv show. Have you ever tried out for the real world? |

Well, this office, you had to look busy, even if you had nothing to do. Whether you got your work done or not, didn't matter. Just so long as you looked busy. |

That's a general rule for most offices. In any case, you should LOOK busy, whether it be having work up on one screen or what. I put a Blackbox imitator for my windows skin, which means I have 4 workspaces, and with 2 monitors, that's 8 full screens to take up. Sometimes I'll be on the internet/instant message workspace when my boss walks in, and not on my work workspaces, and he'll get on my ass for not having something up on at least one screen. |

You realize that is native to windows also? There is a powertoy that enables it. |

It's actually part of my professional practice standards to "rat out" people who aren't following the standards.
I had a huge issue with this last year with a nurse making HUGE med errors and covering them up. I didn't know what to do because I'm not actually registered yet, and the place I work isn't governed by the CNO. I asked my professors for advice and so now I just make photocopies of EVERYthing.
Nursing is pretty sweet that way though. There are plenty of measures in place to ensure those who are doing their job are protected. One's practice pretty much speaks for itself. Lazy/sloppy nurses get caught and investigated....and when they up their names get published, haha. |
