You know those really generic songs of his that all use the exact same parts?

He plays them all together on Ableton.... At the same speed.

Yeah you're right, I forgot how magical that was.

I see where he's coming from. But, given the quality of his music, I don't think he's the best person available to make this kind of criticism.

Unless he plays techno, drum'n'bass or house, I see where he's coming from.

wtf does beatmatching have to do w/ djing? any monkey can learn to match beats....that doesnt make them a dj. a dj sets the tone for the party, the soundtrack for the night if you will. normally im not the type to get in on the deadmau5 bash-o-thons but this takes the cake. what a ing douchebag, itty, face, focker. i'll never support any of your weak ass tracks (not that i ever did besides the merrymaking and dp rmxs which i never paid for thank god) ever again. thanks for being a kunt you sorry sack of !

i think he is implying that most trance dj's do not do anything more than play 10 tracks in an hour full length and match 64 bars all the time with a simple bass switch.

he would also be correct.

While we are no trance lovers, I can honestly say, Tiesto does better than a lot of DJs out there. Last Friday I went out and the DJs were some of the worst I have EVER heard. Bad matching, no flow, tracklist all over the place, bad eqing by the djs. The list goes on.

Yeah, I edited that bit after pondering for a while. The grammar was clumsy, and I don't think I expressed myself clearly.

The fact is that, as far as I've heard, those genres I mentioned often give dj's a lot more opportunity to do crazy stuff than most trance out there (or whatever it is that deadmau5 plays... I listened to 30 second samples and got bored enough to never listen to it again). But, I'm probably being unfair to some good trance dj's, while I'd be praising some mediocre techno/house/d'n'b, so I decided to delete that bit.

There are legions and legions of DJs.
