geroin

but can't comment on this night, wasnt there

hmm so i managed to get through the night without blowing my lid on the coatcheck people. great night overall...music was top notch. Jon Rundell was wicked opening for carl and the crowd reaction to cox's appearance on the decks made my evening. SOlid solid vibe and he just ate it up.

i'll have to agree with katy however, i too prefered guv only cuz i was in the mess and part of the crowd. I liked the balcony at circa cuz i don't like the dancefloor and that actually made the night very enjoyable but cox @ Guv the last time out remains one of the most fantastic 3 hours of music in my life.

had to work at 8am...just got home...now i'm going to get some well deserved sleep before anas @ republik tonight.

btw, it was terrific seeing so many TAs out in one spot. Also Nick?? you were there??

To Orin and "the ppl above" I hope you reconsider allowing my vidcam in on future big events, because from the positive responses I got tonight, it's like it's expected now for me to record these event's... all for the love of the clubbing industry.

i really dont understand why you dont understand the club's position. if you want to record video then get a job working for some sort of media company. thats how all those other videographers get in to do their thing. im pretty sure there are plenty of other people that have a group of friends that would love to see them take pro photos or pro video but i dont see any of them constantly breaking balls or begging to do so.

he is the Master of all ball breakers...lol!

sketch factor - def MUCH lower then guv, but drunk factor - HOLY MOLLY!

Yes, that's probably more accurate than what I said above. I tend to define "sketchy" as any form of recreation, particularly substance-oriented, which can only be enjoyed at the expense of everyone else in the immediate vicinity, so I have a (perhaps confusing) habit of lumping alcohol abuse into the sketch bucket. Most of the stupidity last night was probably due to booze and not much else.

Although comparing the sketch factor of any club to the Guvernment is hardly fair. It's like saying our weather is warm compared to Siberia.

Nice meeting you too. ;) Too bad the environment was not really conducive to an actual conversation - next time perhaps.

hehe yeah makes sense now
yeah I think of sketch and drunkenness as two separate factors.. although when a person is falling over you, doesn't help much knowing that he's drunk as opposed to high, still pretty scary!

Actually I was a good boy with Circa's management. I introduced myself to Orin (club manager), left him some links to some videos and waited for his reply. He finally replied a week later politely declining my request... and I left well enough alone. Out of coincidence, he contacted me again today (after reading my review) and said that perhaps he'll let me in after all during a regular night when there's no super DJ spinning just to see how it goes. Very positive reaction from him.

Your idea about working for a media company is a good one, but it wouldn't work for me. I like doing the vids for fun and there's no way I have the time to put more into it as a side-job. So if in the end the vids stop... so be it I guess.
