| okay...we all know how big name artists like dr.dre, metallica, et al have tried to bring down file sharing and have used their clout to try to do so, but how about trance artists who at least in the US are not that well known and trance is not really a mainstream genre in america. are they trying to bring down ag, winmx, kazaa, etc? i would think that it would help them because they cant really get their music out to the public through radio and mtv. even though i use file sharing apps all the time i still buy trance cds since i cant possibly know what all the good songs are out there and with rock, rap i just turn on the radio and you basically can find out all the songs you want to download...so any thoughts anybody??? |

| Nah, they probably dont even know what Audiogalaxy is :haha: Some trance artists can care less, however others are against having their stuff on the internet/mp3. They dont have a grudge against Audiogalaxy particularly though, just in general. So it just depends on the artist. |

I think artists should see file sharing as the best and most available method of advertising their product. They still make loads of money from concerts, raves, music parties, signings and whatever... You never see little known artists suing AG/Napster/Kazaa etc... you see the rich m-f-ing artists bitching about not getting that extra million.
I for one will never buy another CD... Does that create a loss for the artist. Yes. However, when you look at the big picture... I go to more raves and concerts now. I have more exposure to music, making music a more prevalent part of my daily life, so more of my money will go towards events that have live acts/DJs, so in the end, filesharing is beneficial to the music industry. |

File Sharing:
Good for the little guys.
Bad for the big guys.
It's all the RIAA's fault anyways, they made it public to middle America, which is where all their money from CDs comes from. |

THE RIAA, THE MEDIA THAT IS BITCHING ABOUT MUSIC SHARING AND THE GOD DAMN GOVERNMENT. ANYMORE, HERE WITHIN THE LAST FEW YEARS OF THINGS, THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO IMPEDE THAT THE RAVE SCENE BE SHUT DOWN ENTIRELY IN THE UNITED STATES, NAPSTER GOT SUED AND IS NOW FILING CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY BECAUSE OF THE ASSES OF THE RIAA AND NOW THEY ARE ATTACKING AUDIOGALAXY TOO? I DISAGREE WITH ALL THIS GOD DAMN POLITICAL THE GOVERNMENT IS PULLING OUT ON US WITH. EVERY SINCE 9/11 THE GOVERNMENT IS PRETTY MUCH ING US UP THE ARSE BECAUSE OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH BIN LADEN, LOOK WE DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT TERRORIST ACTS THAT HAPPEN TO THE TWIN TOWERS SO WHY THE HELL ARE WE THE ONES BEING PUNISHED FOR . WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS THAT SINCE 9/11 THERE IS MORE DEBATE IN MEANS OF TRYING TO MAKE THIS A NICER PLACE TO LIVE IN, AND THIS WAR ON TERRORISM ISN'T CUTTING ANY GROUNDS FOR THE ACTUAL CITIZENS OF THE US, IT'S ONLY PUNISHING US FOR SOMETHING WE HAD NO CONTROL OVER. IF THE DAMN GOVERNMENT HADN'T OF SOMEWHAT INVOKE THE THREAT UPON THE OTHER COUNTRIES FOR THEM TO ATTACK US THEN NONE OF THIS WAR ON AMERICA OR FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM WOULD BE HARMING THE THINGS WE LOVE TO DO. SO MEANWHILE WHY PUNISH THE CITIZENS BY TAKING AWAY FILE SHARING AND ALL THIS AND THAT AND ESPECIALLY THE RAVE SCENE WHEN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TERRORIST ACTIVITIES. MAN THE GOVERNMENT AND THE RIAA, AND THEN THEY WONDER WHY THE US CITIZEN ARE TURNING AROUND AND ATTACKING BACK. WE ARE NOT IN FREEDOM ANYMORE TO BE CITIZENS, HERE LATELY SINCE 9/11 ALOT OF CITIZENS FEEL THEY ARE LIVING IN DEPRESSION! SO TO SUE AUDIOGALAXY FOR DOING SOMETHING WORTH WHILE FOR US CITIZEN IS ONE THING BUT TO GO AND SAY THEY ARE DOING IT ILLEGALLY IS ANOTHER. ESPECIALLY WHEN AUDIOGALAXY HAS INCLUDED A MEMBERSHIP FEE FOR THE SERVICES THEY OFFER. SOMEONE GETS THAT MONEY AND I DON'T KNOW WHO BUT THE RIAA NEEDS TO LIGHTEN THE UP. SOONER OR LATER YOUR GONNA HAVE A BIG PROBLEM ON YOUR HANDS IF YOU COMPLETELY TAKE AWAY OUR FREEDOM. AND WHEN I SAY THAT I AM REFERING TO RAVES, CULTURAL SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, FILE SHARING ONLINE AND THE MUSIC ITSELF. MEANING THAT IF YOU TAKE AWAY ALL THAT THEN THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE FOR US YOUNGSTER TO DO BUT TO GO OUT AND GET INTO TROUBLE BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE LOST OUR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND INDIVIDUALITY ALL BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT THINKS THAT THERE PLAN TO CONTROL TERRORISM IS A WORKING MEANS TO KEEP AMERICA UNDER CONTROL. THINK ABOUT IT FOR ONE SECOND AND YOU'LL COME TO CONCLUSIONS THAT I HAVE CAME TO AND RELIZE THAT ITS NOT ATTACKING THE TERRORIST IT IS ATTACK THE GENERAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA ITSELF FOR THEM HEADS THAT RUN THIS COUNTRY THAT INITIALLY STARTED THIS WAR WITH OTHER COUNTRIES OVER SEAS.
SO ALL I GOT TO SAY IS ONE WORD "ANARCHY" AND TILL THE DAY MY FREEDOM OF SPEACH IS TAKEN AWAY I WILL MAKE MY VOICE HEARD! AND THE DAY FREEDOM OF SPEACH IS TAKEN AWAY FROM THE US CITIZENS, CONSIDER ALOT OF ANGRY PEOPLE GOING TO WAR OVER IT. THE END |

The RIAA suing filesharing programs has NOTHING to do with the government.
And none of this has ANYTHING to do with 9/11 or the war on terror. |

| My question is: What the does the RIAA do? and Do we need this RIAA? why can't they get shut down out of business? |

RIAA, to my understanding, is the recording industry of america something something
They are essentially a group comprising all major record labels, and they stand to lose the most money as a result of file sharing, cause ppl like me havent bought a CD in 2 years, when I used to by 3-4 per month.
Message to the RIAA - Its too late... they popularized Napster, I used Napster, I like free music.. I realize that I dont have to pay for it, so I wont. |

i think its amazing how all you ever hear about the internet is stopping MP3 traders and the such and how they can stop all the sharing of music...but NOWHERE NEAR as much do you hear about people trying to stop all the weirdo kiddy porn traders...those are the real criminals and the people who should be stopped...not us...
its sad...more people try and stop MP3s then kiddy porn...just shows us that big buisness is more importnat then the welfare and protection of out children....very sad and disturbing to me. |
