Can you remember what it was like not to know something you know?

You live and learn. You're always learning.

Once you learn something, however, it feels as though a whole new world appeared before your eyes. When you learn a foreign language, suddenly those unknown noises become meaningful; when you learn that people behave a certain way when they're feeling a certain emotion, you're quick to link the image you see with the feeling you believe they're feeling; and so on.

But, take all your knowledge and erase it. Can you remember what it was like not to understand English, for example? Can you forget some kind of social skill that you now take for granted?

Yes. For example, I just found out I have a 3:30 meeting tomorrow. I didn't know about it a few moments ago, and I have no difficulty recalling what it was like, those few moments ago, when I had not yet found out about the meeting. It was quite nice as a matter of fact. I felt less... busy.

Never mind my question. Do tower, tire and tar rhyme to you? And, seriously, where in the UK are you?

(Whoever says Cape Town will be suspended  :D)

I'm talking about stuff that has a much broader impact in your life, Arbiter. I know what it feels like to forget small things all the time, being the way I am :D

I remember reading Finnish Donald Duck comics as a kid. When I learned how to read Finnish, not only speak it, I finally understood so much in those comics. Everything made sense! It was amazing!

Oh, I had not understood your question... Anyway, it would indeed put us where we were before, but can this ever happen? Specially if you build some more knowledge upon that piece of information?

[/QUOTE]what infomation?(if you meen can we move from something that was not there befor). then of course the answer is yes, because thier was no learnig curve to begin with.
unless you take your self to a point before where some recollection was attained.
maybe the brain coincides the past with recent avents that reconises
the two?:conf:
