Somalian woman stoned to death for adultery.

So as many of you may have heard how this woman was stoned to death becuase she was accused of adultery, I'm reminded once again how society, in most countries, treat men and women differently. What about the guy that also is in this. Is she the only one who should be put to death for the both of them?

The Islamists last carried out public executions when they ruled Mogadishu and most of south Somalia for half of 2006.
They were toppled by allied Ethiopian and Somali government forces at the end of that year, but they have taken back land by waging an Iraq-style guerrilla campaign.
In parts, they are welcomed for the security they bring, but they are also imposing fundamentalist practices like banning entertainment seen as anti-Islamic.
Islamists said the woman, named as Asha Ibrahim Dhuhulow, wanted punishment under Sharia law.
Local leader Sheikh Hayakallah said: "She was asked several times to review her confession but she stressed that she wanted Sharia law and the deserved punishment to apply."
But her sister, who asked not to be named, said: "The stoning was totally irreligious and illogical.
"Islam does not execute a woman for adultery unless four witnesses and the man with whom she committed sex are brought forward publicly."
Islamist leaders at the execution said the woman had breached Islamic law and promised to punish the guard who had shot the child in the melee around the execution. |

Somalia has no recognized government and is deemed to be 'stateless'. Probably one of the most dangerous places you could be in the world right now. My heartfelt pity goes out to the people of this sad nation.

wow, that sucks!!! I'm pretty extreme but I can't believe there's still some places like that in the world that are this ed up.

After talking to a guy in my office here who is from somalia and is 53yrs old has lived most of his life there and came to canada in 2001 tells me the country is in bad shape no Govt and the only way this incident took this ugly shape is because of the fact that she was dumb and went and told them that yes she did it instead of someone else telling on her, in that case they would have to bring forward up to 8 women and if its man then its 4 men to prove that they had sex and be the witness before she was to found guilty.......In her case she just blindly went forward herself and said yes I did it and I want this punishment.
Sad regardless. |

WoW I always wanted to see this even living in saudi arabia never had a chance or balls to go see the public execution they do infront of the mosque so that people could see it live. |
