Reread his post and you'll see that it's hardly "no reason." In fact, the post I responded to was incredibly elitist in tone, and if the response hurt your little feelings then that's just too bad.
I'm tired of moronic comments following the general format of "Oh you losers will only go out to see international superstars and that's why we can't get a proper scene going, those guys are all a bunch of overpaid showboaters and our locals are way way better!" In fact, I've been tired of those dumbass comments for years. Yeah, our locals are "world class", sure, they're just not well-connected enough or aren't really into the whole touring thing, yeah, that's it. Oh, except deadmau5 who actually is getting international bookings, and the same people who big up our locals can't get on the hate boat fast enough. It's honestly so utterly transparent.
Look, if he'd just responded with "I've been to a bunch of 8-10 hour Mark Oliver open-close sets" I wouldn't have said a damn thing. I don't think I would have even thought about saying anything. I only responded to the smarmy "OMG you guyz must be kidding MO does Marathon sets EVERY WEEK LOLZ what do these dudes get paid for anyway!?!?!??!!!one" BS.
You post a lot of asinine douchebaggery here too but I don't target you personally over it and claim to speak for the rest of the forum. If you have a problem with what I said, feel free to debate it, but if you have a problem with me, ing get over it buddy, and don't think that posting a "get out" animated GIF that's already been posted 45,137 times on this forum is going to earn you any points.
Graham/Jon, sorry for the off-topic rant, but there was no way I was going to let that one slip by. |

Right, 9-10 hours of utter boredom. I knew some queerboat would bring up Mark Oliver, just wasn't sure who was going to be the ballwasher this time around.
Not saying that none of the locals are any good, just that you can't compare. |
Utter boredom???
Are you insane????
It's obvious how much of a clue you really have now...
Those sets from 2000 to 2004 were some of the most amazing ones to ever be heard...
Those nights were legendary....
And I challenge anyone who was actually around at that time to contest that fact...
And believe me, I have no reason to kiss Mark's ass....

Ppl don't harp on deadmouse because of his success...
Ppl harp on him cause he's an egotistical, self inflated jerk...of a success...
I think Mike Myers is a douchebag too...
But I still like his movies though...'cept for the guru one...it was crap...
And you're in right I'm an elitist....
Because I'm part of something that was great....
Can you say the same????
And my apologies also for the hijack... |

Do you end every single sentence with an ellipsis? I'm sorry to nitpick here, but I swear that's got to be one of the most irritating habits I've ever seen.
Look, I'm not going to argue about the quality of Mark Oliver's sets. I was around in '03-'04, not '00, maybe it was different then. Either way, I just think you're full of for your blasé "I'm not impressed by these headliners" line.

Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from Greek ἔλλειψις 'omission') in printing and writing refers to a mark or series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word or a phrase from the original text. An ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence (aposiopesis).
And does it make you feel good to know what an ellipsis is????????
Don't you know how pretentious you sound most of the time????
Really, I'm not impressed... |

Um, no? I kind of assumed it was common knowledge. What the hell did you want me to call it? Christ, who cares, just stop using so many of them.
You can go ahead and keep calling me clueless if you want. I can find just as many people who will say that Y2K onward was all downhill and that the best partying years were from 1996-1999. I choose to believe that the "special" factor is nothing more than novelty (and in some cases drugs, leading to strong emotions), which means I am responsible for my own enjoyment. Living in the past seems like a pretty ing hopeless endeavour to me. |
