He preached reaching across party lines to push for change. This guy wont have to speak to a republican for the next 4 years, let alone reach out to any of them. ok were you seriously expecting him to pick a chief of staff based on the criteria of must be republican? this is such a stupid argument. the chief of staff is only the first appointment, a very critical one, one you don't waste as a gesture of appeasement. the chief of staff is the guy who filters information and access into the oval office. it would be a disastrous judgment call to select a man you don't already know very well and one who clashes with you ideologically. you guys really are grasping for straws insinuating obama is untrustworthy because he picked a good friend for chief of staff. why don't you sit on you hands and wait until his cabinet and other high level positions have been announced.

very good point rich, but i still dont see him giving any attempt at crossing party lines to get things done, especially since he has an overwhelming majority. He will apoint very left wing politicans in %99 of his positions im sure. Partisan politics will be disasters for years to come because of it.

and if you have any doubt as to obama's judgment, let's just say we dodged a bullet with mccain. this is a man who chose sarah palin to replace him as president if he dies. it came out yesterday from campaign aides that sarah palin doesn't even know which countries are in nafta or that africa is a continent not a country. can you imagine this guy's cabinet appointments?

Yeah, Lieberman gets thrown under the bus by the libtard majority for supporting issues and candidates that may cross his former party lines. So should Lieberman keep his chairmanships based on the merits and successes of his work or should they be stripped from him as a backlash in the face of your typical bipartisanship from the left?
