| Conspiracy theories are ideal for explaining/simplifying circumstances that are hard to comprehend or accept. Consequently the creation of God could be easily regarded as the mother of all conspiracy theories. |

ITT: People trust google too much.
I remember when the majority of the web wasn't owned by corporations (Excluding the physical infrastructure).
Do you really think Google, a company which willingly works with Thailand and China to censor their people is giving you their service so you can be happy? How naive can you be? :stongue:
I guess you also trust Verizon to keep your billing information and internet usage private, too. Oh wait, they gave the government that info.
Also, in before: "BUT REALIST GOOGLE HAS PING PONG TABLES IN THEIR OFFICE THEY ARE GOOD GUYS." |

I make it a point to not buy any goods or services from anyone but direct family members as well.
Good show. |

Or you could get off your lazy ass and do some research. There are tons of companies (Even some ISP's) who have refused to give any information to the government. I buy my goods and services from them. Ethical business practices still exist. |

I was talking about the sharing of personal information without consent.
Did you read those articles you posted?
Google offered those countries censored versions of its content because it was otherwise %100 blocked to everyone in that country because of the government.
EDIT: And the last link refers to YouTube before it was even owned by google. |

1 day prior. This new "cleaning up" was specifically for the Google buyout.
And I like how you justify that just because google doesn't do it in our country, it's OK. |

Ah yes, the self-righteous "everyone else is dumb and lazy" argument that comes so frequently with conspiracies. |

Cool alt-trolling!
Oh wait, kill yourself.
ALSO.
DO YOU THINK GOOGLE's MASTER PLAN IS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD? |

"LAST week, as YouTube continued its recent campaign to spit-shine its image and, perhaps, to look a little less ragtag to potential buyers (including Google, which was said to be eyeing the upstart in the $1.6 billion range)"

Google had the choice to either serve those countries either:
No Content
or
Filtered Content
They went with filtered content. What does that have anything to do with filtering in our own countries? And how does it make them the bad guy in any way? The governments who filter the content are the ones to blame (I am heavily against censorship by the way, see sig). |
