Plus there are a lot of events that promoters never add to the event thread.... or wait till like a week before (which for some people that may not be enough notice). I would rather know 50% of the information from a non promoter, than know 0% from a promoter who fails at promoting. |
then theyre not a promoter |

Then promoters should be faster.
First come first serve.
I would rather know about a party sooner than later.
If the promoter wants the flyers and info added they can still post it in the thread... or go cry to Swamper and he will fix it.

you may think that posting events way ahead of time is good but it doesnt always work out that way. many times people find out an event two months ahead of time and think its a great event. then three weeks before that event they see something new and end up going to the new event because the first event was "old news". you would be surprised at how many people think that way. |
If clubs want the element of surprise or want people to feel the anticipation of waiting... THEY SHOULD KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT!
Once the information is leaked I think its fair for it to be posted on TA (as long as it follows the 'two month rule')
Besides I dont really believe what you say above. I am more likely to go to an event if I know in advance... some people cant party every weekend all the time, some people have work, family, school, and more to balance.
I really think your theory is bs. Unless ofcourse the 'new party' is a BETTER party... than of course more people will go to it. |

Funny that you mentioned this since I had planned on posting the event for Nick Warren @ Circa but since I am not a promoter nor even remotely affiliated with Circa I held off. Looks like they still haven't put up anything in the Events section. |
It was posted today.
If I was a huge Nick Warren fan I would be really upset as with short notice like that I can not go. |

i think your theory is bs as well.
look how many people flood to a new venue, not because it is a better venue but simply because it is new. sort of the same idea.
also, i think one to two months in advance is perfect for posting events. three months is too much. |

lol I think most people decide in the last minute for most events. They just like have different options and then decide last minute.
I think two months is good, otherwise it would get clutterred too much. |

Definately. I posted a thread a week or 2 ago about it. Can't say I am a die hard fan but I have been itchin to see him live. From the historical significance of EDM evolving over the years I still believe he plays a true "progressive" sound.

I never said anything about 3 months... and we arent talking venues (as there are rarely new venues) we are talking events in general.
Your argument is completely unrelated.
Two months is perfect but one/two weeks is not.
If an event isnt up yet and the event is less than a month away I do not see what the problem is with a nonpromoter posting the event.
And again... whats wrong with sharing excitement. This forum is about the music we all love. If someone finds out their fav DJ is coming to guv in 3 months I really so no issue with them creating a thread for it (not in the event thread). We all have the same love, we should be able to share and make other happy :) There are enough useless threads on here that have nothing to do with anything... people shouldnt get pissed off because someone is excited about music. |

Circa promoters need to be fired. We all know it.
If I were you I would create a new thread for it with the flyer and proper title. Yes it breaks the rules, but Swamper is a smart man, he will delete the ty one. |
