so we are arguing about two totally different things.
im talking about people posting events in the event forum and you're talking about sharing info outside of the event forum.

No.
I was just trying to tie in your 3 month arguement.
(Thats why there was a lot of space inbetween points)
Ive been talking about non promoters posting in the event thread.
Have you not read anything? |

Circa is doing just fine with their existing promo strategy, properly posted events or not.
Clearly TA is not the make-it-or-break-it market. *gasp* |

| Chinamon, why do you care? Is it because you promote yourself and therefore end up lossing money? |

I dont know... thats why I was asking. I'm just trying to figure out why it bothers you so much that non-promoters post on the event thread. |

i have no problem with non-promoters posting events in the event thread. i do have a problem when they dont supply any information. |

It makes more sense to me that those working for the club or promoting the club should post. I only think this because the information should be correct. Word of mouth, or I saw it here heard it there might give misleading information to people.
However, I don't see a problem if someone posts in the main forum showing their excitement over a DJ coming to spin in Toronto. Gets people to talk about the music and past performances memories etc...
Nonetheless, if there is an event at a club and its not posted by a promoter or a person working for a club and there is like 2 weeks left before the event. It is a good idea for someone to tell people a little time before the event. This way at least people would be aware. |

things get flooded then...
i think if the event isnt posted by a promoter then someone else can/should. once the relevant info is avail and is posted then delete the non-promoters thread. so basically what is going on right now. lol that got me nowhere |
