I love the holidays! My house is 1/2 decorated (the inside is almost done). Next weekend after the holidays (after we get back from families houses) we're decorating the outside and the tree! :happy2:

Christmas is too commercialized.

Compared to what though? I'm really not mourning the loss of a bull holiday being eclipsed by commercialism when it is nothing more than a religious one and a pretty ing arbitrary one, at that.

Remember the good ol' days when Christmas wasn't so commercialized, and we could silently pray to our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, and share warm, fuzzy family moments near a roaring fire all the while basking in the glory it is to be a Christian?

YEAH, ME ING NEITHER.

//but I do love the colours and the shiny-ness of it all.

Only if you do it right. We used to eat stuffing and giblets out of dead Indian skulls - REAL THANKSGIVING. That all stopped when they shut down our compound though. :sadgreen:

i love christmas time because that's the ONLY time of the year i think everyone is genuinely nice. i love egg nog, i love christmas songs and i like the new snow. my love for this time of year doesn't have to do with gifts. plus i get tons of time off, can spend time with the family and my birthday is right after christmas. best damn time of the year imo.

there was a house in my neighborhood in shreveport that had their xmas tree up before i left back in early october. it was sick.

I love this time of year, aside from the nasty bitter cold. I think being downtown Christmas shopping with the Christmas music playing on the speakers outside or within the mall... puts me in the best mood. My Mom and I always bake a lot together so I look forward to this time every year. I like the over all happiness most people project and it's totally infectious. I generally ignore all the grumpy people because I really don't want to let it affect me. Ahhhh the holidays. *glee*

OH! Does anyone else have the problem with buying such a great and perfect gift that you want the person to open it now now now now? ! Happens to me with a handful of people. I find th best gift ever and I know they're going to be soooo happy to get it that I can't wait to see their facial expression.

I used to not like you before this post Frenchie. But now I do. I'm with you on this one.

I'll probably start not liking you again after Christmas is over though, fyi.
