Very good tip...
My worry was that if I had to wait too long I'd lose the bug to DJ.. I have to pay 80 euro a month to play on a Xone 92. I'd never borrow more than a grand though.
Definitely good advice though. |

I would have used the money left over from my student loans on whores and drugs if I didn't spend it on gear.
Random economy tip: if you are taking loans for school don't waste them on a bull degree like liberal/fine arts. we needs scientists, doctors, engineers, etc... |

| Won a 5g scholarship for my site that I submitted to the college I'm going to. It was a contest only for web design majors, so I thought I'd enter. Turns out I got third place! First thing I did is buy all my equipment and an Xbox 360. Some people might call that a waste of money, but I'm still happy with the decision to spend it. |

Hell I got first mixer with pair CDJ's when I used my student loans to buy em lol. That year was bad because I had take out second loan because of that lol. Because I buy up tons cd when I should of been saving it toward college lol.
Now I make good money with the mine so save away $50 each paycheck to use towards music and gear. |

Turning to digital DJing has helped me save a lot of money.
Initially I worked and still do, a regular day job. So I saved firstly for the 1210's and sold my old guitar amp to buy a mixer. But I ended up spending over half my weekly pay on new vinyl nearly every week for years. So when I got a new laptop last year I looked into Traktor and Ableton and got a cheap midi controller. It was the best thing I did to save money. I still buy as much, probably more music now just on mp3s and still occasionally buy a vinyl when I can't find the music in mp3 format. I still love vinyl and mixing with records but digital DJing has great financial benefits imo. ;) |
