work work work work work.

I guess you give some stuff up to. Since we all know how expensive it is to get some 1000mk3's and a djm800
SPAWNmaster
When I first got into it I bought a used Vestax VMC004 (quality entry level!) on ebay , and a pair of new cdj200's from a company that does financing. I slowly paid it off after working over a summer.

I then slowly upgraded to a pair of cdj800mk2's and djm800 (all new) after taking out a loan from my parents and slowly paying them off after working summers.

I then sold all that when I got into Skydiving and BASE Jumping.

After recently selling my skydiving rig after a couple of years working in the sport I was able to just buy a pair of Tech1200mk2's and A&H Xone 4D + Traktor Scratch Pro new all in one shot.

So you can see that over time just working and trading up gear you can get what you're trying to buy.

Funny u asked 10 years ago i got a pimp ass job and with the money i got some 1200s turntables and a rane mixer and a numark cdn-88 cd player (CDJ-1000 have not came out yet, but i never been a cdj guy!)

Vinyl was more passion definitly, and i saved some of the best records i bought.

I FEEL U!

Yes.

But partly because my own story of learning to mix without pitch control and just speeding up / slowing down decks manually, while trying to do a smooth mix on a flakey homemade 8 channel studio mixer tends to attract pity rather than respect.

found some1 from my local scene way back then that was upgrading and snatched up a used numark 'dj in a box' kit for like 200$, probably over priced, but it was a good 10 years ago. then just work and saving etc... and high school graduation was a nice jump in gear. but in reality the equipment is pennies compared to the vinyl.... i use mix meister fusion now as its just so damn easy and fun. probably gonna get flamed, but i can pre make a couple hour long set, then goto the party/club, get majorly tanked and have fun not being too concentrated on the mix and just edit tracks here and there, or add in, take away, effects it up to more in play with the lighting. i know its not the 'purist' way, but i eventually upgraded and have/still use 1200 mk5s, but vinyl is so damn expensive!! that, and its weird, some songs/mixes you CANT find on vinyl, and others you CANT find on mp3.... so both work for me.

on a side note; i can mix from my computer mixing program to my decks fora few vinyls, but going back to my commputer is.... rough. i usually end up cheating with some breakdown just to make it all in all, smoother.... :( anyone else deal with going to and from vinyl to pc in a mix????

My hobby (volleyball) turned into a real professional job career. I played few season and got money for my first setup (Omnitronic dual cd player & Omnitronic PM-524 mixer), i loved that setup. I created some unforgottable mixes with them.

I have made some other jobs aswell in the past so i have had money for current setups.

So... i got my gear by working.
feelgood
Financing over a looooong time.
