sunrise... GOLDEN CALL!!!

Joey. HA HA HA HA!!! should i bring a few bits and pieces and cook up a little storm?

Bee, i gotcha! your comment comes to mind when i whent to Vandit Nights in Berlin... was only the man himself (PVD), John o'Bir and Sander Klinnenberg (pretty sure it was those other 2 boys... 80% sure thats right), but the point is.... it was a 8/9 hour gig.... 3 djs.... = freedom for each of them to do their thing!!! i mean. PVD played second and fourth, both sets were extreeeeemly different but farout it was amazing to FEEL each of the Djs projections... its not about playing the new tunes that rock at the moment ya know what i mean???? it creeps into mind some times about what DJs are playing these days....

call me overzealous
m1kest4r
ok i'm calling you overzealous. nah not really i completely agree with you. HEHE!

some genres it's not as important - i'm gonna say hardstyle, electro/mainstream house as examples.

however when it comes to any form of progressive and trance then a minimum of 2 hours is probably needed to do something with the set so that it stands out from just playing tunes.

guys like john digweed who i have seen play 4 hours have played tracks, 2-3 hours into their set, which i would never listen to nor probably like at home, have me dancing HARD purely because of the build up to the track over an extended period of time.

it's all about set structure and you need a longer period of time to get that "journey" going. you can do it over 1 hour but it always feels rushed in my opinion.

my 2 cents.

ANNNND i'm quite pumped about coming down on saturday night =)

im pumped too :) if u guys can get access to an inpress mag pic it up and hear what norman has to say :)

for example, does anyone remember when Martin Roth played at defcon lastyear??

thats a perfect example of getting the journey happening... even though he didnt have all that much time... Roth gave me that feel of the journey... he had 2 or 3 songs as a build up to a major uplifting tune and it just felt orgasmic because of the other 2 or 3 tunes building it up and didnt have too big of a climax within themself.... which made the uplifter so much more effective!

not going to forget his set from Defcon anytime soon... those feelings deffinatley make an impression big time!

I caught it today; biggest piece of interview I've ever had the displeasure of reading. Shame, they're good producers.
