must be something in that Dallas air. I finally got to see the interview at home (work firewalls Youtube) and I have to admit it was petty and vindictive and too premeditated indeed (especially the longer version).
If he said it spontaneously, like the sort of stuff you see in his interview on CBC's The Hour, then it's all good, NHL could use more guys like him. But this was planned so..
In addition to this, the Laraque comment, Jason Blake incident and so on, don't forget he also dissed visor-wearing French guys too :p |

| his career is over. The stars will put him on waivers as soon as the suspension is done. They will have to buy him out at the end of the year, but it is well deserved for being stupid enough for paying this guy 4 million. |

My only question is this:
Do I get 60 PIM for each game he sits in my fantasy league? I drafted this guy solely for the PIMs and he's not really racking them up as expected this year.
EDIT---
Upon further review, his 77 PIMs so far this year isn't too bad. I guess my expectations were a little high.
Dropped his ass anyhow. |

I wonder is Dallas can Suspend him indefinately without pay for the four years he has on his contract....that would be a real kick in the groin. |

| They will probably send him to the minors (which means he gets paid). But given who he is and his ego I doubt he will be down for it which is what will allow Dallas to get rid of him without having to pay him. |

Hockey players are professionals and are expected to act as such. When the team travels, the guys wear suits. This isn't because they are all up-and-up on fashion, they are required to do so.
Avery has a history of making irresponsible comments, and when you actually seek out a camera crew to get in a jab at your ex's new boyfriend, you need a reality check. He comes off like some of the Jr. A guys I used to know in school. Grow up.
As for his 'distraction' technique...while legal (technically), it's no better than cherry-picking. Beat a goalie on the merits of your skills, not your 'wacky waving infaltable arm failing tube man' impression. Marty showed a lot of restraint, I'm sure the Eagle would have just socked him.
Should he be suspended? Yes. Suspend him for the rest of the season and ship him doen to the minors, maybe a little time in purgatory will teach him to behave like a man. |
