Not sure about playing them in Winamp, but you would certainly not be able to play them on another computer or digital player. You're better off buying them from some other store that sells DRM free files. |

If you burn the songs to a cd and them rip them they should just be mp3s... dunno if that helps.
You also can't play iTunes files in winamp, not sure about other players. |

| Yes, you can play an m4a in winamp. No problem. It's a pain in the ass however to convert them from m4a to mp3. So if you want an mp3 buy one. Well, for me it was a pain in the ass. But yeah, I'm not what you'd call a computer geek. I think the m4a is of a lesser quality. I never could get into using torrents and iirc, I find getting a file out of the itunes software comparable to getting a file out of the bittorrent software. |

| Really? I haven't bought tunes off there in a long long time so I guess it's changed? I just know I never could. |

| I converted one into an mp3 somehow. I just googled stuff until I was able to find something. |

| itunes is complete and utter . Torrent all your music and then don't share afterwards - buy a copy of the actual CD if you feel bad about it or better yet, drop some money in an envelope and send it to that very artist. |

Fail. This info is old as . There is no solution to convert them except to burn it. |

I converted one file into mp3 like 2 years ago. It took about 6 hours (googling, downloading weird software, reading directions, screwing up, starting over, etc etc) and I think the resulting mp3 was a 128 when I was finished. lol, maybe even a 96!
