| I didnt have too many issues with the kids staying in the back. At least there were very few candy kids and the girls were hot, so I dealt with it. Markus dropped some sick beats but my friends hoping for something more melodic and vocally were disappointed...overall solid though! |

My review of Markus Schulz? Easy
It should just become a tradition that he launches Day One every year in SF.
Spundae and Torq combining efforts for this night was so much throughout the duration and throughout the night of. I got there in time to hear the second half of Bjorn's set, which was awesome. It definitely got the vibe started on the floor. I don't know what it is but when there's a presence of Torq there I always feel a great flow to my sets. I had a blast playing!
Such an amazing way to kick off Day One! Thanks to everyone who shared the night with us! |

Much better than last 3 times I saw Markus! (POP/Mighty) Oh man I was wanting him to play Holden - Nothing 93 so freaking much! As Schulz introduced me to Holden pretty much way back in the day on GDJB (Holden's guest mix is still one of my favorites to this day) but I didn't want to be one of those people requesting tracks cause I hate it myself and wasn't sure if he would have it anyway. At the end of his set I asked when was the last time he played it and said he thought of it yesterday and had the disc on him! Hearing that track on Ruby's system would of just been insane! At least for me. He also mentioned he did a mash up of Luke Chable's Ride on yesterdays GDJB classics showcase. Downloading it now and looking at the track list, would of loved hearing A Break in the Clouds and Remember Magnetic North last night. His Shadows of Coldharbour remix of Beautiful Things would of been nice too! I miss the old GDJB esp the live sets at Space and I can't seem to move on :o
Brandon Wade upstairs played a great set too! Wish I did set up my recorder just not for his set but everyones! Thanks again to TORQ/Spundae for letting me host upstairs, that was fun and we all got new fans esp Wade! :happy2:
Alain, great opening set! Love techno in the main room :D Bjorn sorry I didn't hear your set but when I went up on stage early on thought you werent going on for awhile and then i saw you again you were done :wtf:
Can't wait for next time Schulz is at Ruby again :D |

What a kick ass night! The crowd was f'n insane from beginnig to end. I don't t hink I've ever seen a more crowd go so nuts for that long without letting up a bit. Those young kids sure have a lot of stamina, lol.
yeah, markus played harder than usual...he was playing for the younger crowd, plus I personally love when Markus changes it up and plays a different side of him. I loved his set. Don't get to hear that from him every day and he's still better than just about any DJ who always plays like that.
Markus looked tired when he came to the stage, but the crowd was nuts and he wasn't tired for long!
Got on a 11:30pm and finished at 3:30am and the floor was still nice and full!
He has a blast....what's with the new "arms sway to the side" dance Markus was doing all night, lol. Nerdy, lol. |

Wow, what a night. Just woke up ha ha.
Thank you ALL that came out last night, this was hands down one of my absolute favorite nights ever at Ruby Skye and in my personal opinion the best set i have ever heard there.
so driving and energetic with both some old goodies and banging new stuff and classics.. just perfect !
Marcus was totally feeding off the energy of the crowd and the vibe on the dance floor. He told me after that this was one of his favorite sets ever in San Francisco and he had such a great time.
thank you Alain for setting up Marcus with a perfect opening set and thank you Gilbert Rizo for hosting upstairs with great tunes !
cant wait to bring him out again soon !!
by the way, anyone know the very last closing tune he played ? |

party was insane. If I could get the last 4 or 5 tracks Alain spun to end his set when he got more trancey and deep, that would be awesome.
Markus ripped it up. He really gets into the vibe and music and it's great on a DJ standpoint. Thought he would end a little early but then kept putting tracks on. w0w what an amazing night. Kept me up all night!
GOOD NIGHT! |
