Tiesto headlined Coachella on the MAINSTAGE, not in the EDM tent.
Giant has huge dance parties in downtown every year.
Money is being made on dance music in America... |

| Most edm songs i want i can't find for download illegally anywhere(torrent sites, limewire, etc.). And i tend to think most people that listen to edm (except those who listen to unicorn trance) tend to buy their music anyways. |

Nonsense. Is there less music out there now? Can anyone actually imagine a day where all the labels close up shop and no more music is made? This has always been a ridiculous idea. The fact remains that the music industry needs to adapt to a changing market. Either that or call for a bailout... |
I found links on 3 different free file hosting sites where one of our releases was downloaded over 3000+ times combined (they had counters for the file). Just try to see yourself as a musician for a second and think that 3000 people just took your music that you worked hard at creating without paying for it... and they don't give a damn. It was a pretty ty feeling coming across those links...
how does the music industry adapt to this? Do you have any suggestions?
I'm not in this for the money and I have a "normal" day job. But I absolutely hate it and I would love to do full time music (DJ, produce, run the label) and be completely happy, even if I made 50% of what I make at my current job.
Merry Christmas! |

And people have been trading music for decades now, MP3 is just the latest cassette tape and CD-R. |
tape & CD-R = person to person physical sharing 10s to 100s max
MP3 = millions via internet...

most of those 3000+ people would have never bought your release anyway, even if it wasn't available as a free illegal download. ;) |
