Hrm, I forgot about this album and Ott's Skylon from earlier this year. Both great albums.

As far as artist albums go, my nods are:
Trifonic - Emergence, great album in the spirit of BT's This Binary Universe. Great stutter edits, beautiful sounds and vocals.

Harry Gregson Williams - Metal Gear Solid 4, not dance music but a great soundtrack with quality electronic elements none the less.

DJ Compilations:
Hybrid - Soundsystem 01, pretty smooth disc 1 w/ the ambient tracks and disc 2 had some gems

Sasha - Involver 2, what others already said.

Yay! More Distant System love. Seriously overlooked album this year, though understandable since space ambient hasn't been hip since the mid-90s.
Something doesnt need to be hip for being good and appreciated! :) And this album didnt go so much under the radar, many guys that I know who like ambient have bought it and like it very much as well.

These.

I'll add:

The Black Keys - Attack & Release
Emiliana Torrini - Me and Armini
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
Lykke Li - Youth Novels

I've spent most of the year exploring a few new (older) genres, so I haven't heard a whole lot of new albums I guess.
