well, the city where i live is much more like australia than you may think. cop shootings in the US tend to be restricted to certain areas with less than desirable populations.

So, you live in a city where firearms are illegal? Sweet, which one? :p

Nailed twice with capsicum spray, and still kept coming? That 's brutal. Gotta be some drugs in there somewhere, I reckon.

just a thought, why dont these ******s just use a couple of rubber bullets ?

I'm sure then we would have reports of police unable to fully defend themselves then.

Sounds about right.

Lol, ice at 15? I'd only done shrooms and weed at that stage.

LOL....not quite, but I wish. Getting a permit for a handgun is extremely difficult. I was talking more about crime.

I obviously don't know the ins and outs of of stories like these, but if the man/woman isn't holding a gun and/or a hostage, why not shoot them in the leg to incapacitate them instead of going for the kill shot? :(

as someone said yes the torso is the largest part of the body and that is why law enforcement officers are trained to "STOP" (not trained to kill you could never legally name it that in policy).

in a situation where a suspect is coming at you it is almost impossible to "wound" a suspect.even the most skilled shooters will tell you this and any officer that would even attempt it would be jeopardizing the life of not only himself but also the officers around him.

this is not a situation where a hunter "leads" an animal while its running away at a distance.a suspect at 21 feet can close in on you in 1.5 seconds.if you have a fake/toy gun and a holster have a friend stand 21 feet from you and attempt to draw your weapon as he charges.unless your trained youll find it extremely difficult.

heres a tip:most people make the mistake of completly drawing thier weapon as a suspect charges(drawing the weapon and pointing it at the suspect with arms fully drawn wide out away from them).if a suspect charges draw your weapon from the hip(taking your weapon out of its holster and pointing and shooting directly at the suspect in a close hand to hip ratio)think like the old west).

this will drastically increase your draw and shoot on a charging suspect.

^^ yeah, that's exactly right. i have a few mates that are cops and i was really surprised by the stats.

oh, and in other news:

TYLER Cassidy, the Melbourne teenager shot dead by police at 15, was a member of a white supremacist group whose ''soldiers'' have vowed revenge.
He was all goofy smile and daggy hair, the cheeky kid with the two thumbs up and an air of mischief.

Somewhere between the retro sweater and a new skinhead crop, Tyler Cassidy turned from the "gentle" boy in his family photo to a rum-drinking, card-carrying white supremacist.

By the time he faced off with police in a Melbourne skate park on Thursday night he was an angry "Southern Cross Soldier", known for his temper and random acts of violence.

He dared police to kill him before he killed them, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Within just four months of falling in with neo-Nazis and criminals, Tyler was dead. At only 15.

He was shot and killed when three police officers opened fire after Tyler threatened to kill them with two knives he had earlier stolen from Kmart.

Victorian Assistant Commissioner Tim Cartwright said Tyler could not be subdued by two doses of capsicum spray and continued towards the officers, still carrying the knives, as a warning shot was fired.

"He was saying, 'Kill me, I am going to kill you'," Mr Cartwright said.

On Wednesday, the day before the fatal stand-off, Tyler was on a mission.

"Tomorrow we're drinking rum whether you like it or not," Tyler told fellow Southern Cross Soldier "Azza" on his MySpace page.

Yesterday, members of SCS and Proud To Be Aussie, who count neo-Nazis and criminals in their ranks, paid tribute by vowing revenge.

"We will get them f. . .ers back, memba revenge is sweet," SCS member Kingston wrote on Tyler's MySpace page.

A former friend, who knew Tyler well, spoke of his violent temper and told the Herald Sun that had the police not shot Tyler he would have made good on his threat to kill one of the officers.

According to some close to the 15-year-old, Tyler regularly taunted police as "pigs" and - although far from looking the part - embraced a skinhead ethos.

The troubled youth was expelled six months ago from Templestowe College for throwing a chair, threatening a teacher, fighting and truancy.

His former friend said he had fallen in with the wrong crowd and begun hanging around a group of self-styled skinheads, often at Eltham train station.

He said Tyler was known for his sporadic violence, but other than an assault matter he had no criminal history.

He did "minor things, such as randomly attacking people he did not like the look of, or acting tough and starting fights with anyone he could", the former associate said.

"He was always angry, and after trying to help him out for longer than anyone else I know, more than anyone I know, he was beyond help."

Tyler's family have blamed his death on heavy-handedness and lack of negotiating skills on the part of police.

A family statement said Tyler had a very gentle side and was simply striving to grow from a boy into a young man.

"I promise you my darling, I will fight for you as you were taken from me under the most horrific circumstances," Tyler's mother Shani said.

The All Nations Park where Tyler was shot appears to have been visited by like-minded racists, possibly because of its name.

A sticker for the Creativity Movement - another white supremacist group - is plastered beneath the All Nations Park sign.

- with The Herald Sun

now, im not a fan of the herald sun by any stretch of the imagination, but IF the claim that he's a violent skinhead is accurate then i cant say im too fussed that he's dead (you know, because i was so broken up before ;))

if either of my sisters were a cunt i wouldn't bother remonstrating in the media in this situation. so either his family is totally clueless or they see $$

there just arent enough examples of people getting their just desserts. so it makes a nice change.

Oh, well, since I have been systematically conditioned to disagree with his world perspective, I suppose it's ok that he was killed by men in uniforms.
