There's a reason a didn't keep in touch with those people. I just block them and move on.

When someone gives me for not acknowledging them I either ignore them completely, or flip out and yell at them over the internet then block them, that way they think I'm crazy and neeeeeeever talk to me again (and it's fun to take all the frustration out on someone you don't really care about).

I don't know how or why, but I think I've mastered the art of tastefully and quickly avoiding these uncomfortable situations and yet the other people never catch on.

Facebook sucks for this though I agree. You just have to learn to ignore people and be civil and explain things if it gets to that.

I started getting friend requests from people 3 years below me in school. Err.....yea I remember your face but why the hell would I add you? Hell I already have almost 500 friends on facebook (yes it's more than I'd want but I've made many friends). If I wasn't selective I'd end up with 3 or 4 times that and I don't see the point. It's not MySpace where it's a race to see who can have the most "friends".

99% of my friends on facebook have played some sort of significant part in my life. In other words, they really are my proper friends from some point in time.
I just can't see the point of adding randoms that I don't have time for or really know well.
