Perhaps you already knew that, but I was just watching MTV Europe when I suddenly saw this tv spot with a wooden muppet dancing in a spotlight.
Exctasy kills!
And music by Paul van Dyk. I think it shows a lot that he helps such a campaign against drugs, people who need drugs in order to listen to this kind of music suck. I was pretty surprised though!
I wonder if there's a full track of this beauty? Does anybody know more about it? Starfox? |

Hello Franco,
I saw the clip on Paul`s website last week and it was very nice of him to make a music for this type of commertials.
This will also be a track for Paul`s new album next year, and if you notice, it is similar to the song he played at Rosenmontag`s Rave 2002.
More info to come soon.
Many Greetings,

i hate how the media always makes electronic music out to be the bad guy.. there is drug use in every music genre.. rap = marijuana, rock = everything, etc = etc..
even jazz was founded upon drug use..
i think these kind of commercials are unfair |

| Do what you want to do. Who gives a damn. Don't try to force one belief upon other people, especially if it's based on a LOT of propagenda, misinformation and outright lies. OOOOHHHH drugs are bad. Why ? 'Coz PvD says so. And he must be right. He's a famous DJ after all ... |

well...i think the point is that Electronic music is Electronic music, and not just ecstasy-poppin' tunes.
i don't think it's like those drug-free videos they make you watch in junior high. |

Actually, it's EXACTLY like that.
Don't you think that for an adult, you're being patronized WAY too much through little stunts like this.
After all, electronic music culture and drug culture have always went hand in hand. Now before some jackass starts reading between the lines and says something along the lines 'you don't need drugs to enjoy trance', I'm not saying that everybody who listens to electronic music must automatically do massivea amounts of drugs. But to deny this part of the culture is to deny the culture itself. You can't really have one without the other. So instead of collaborating on some propaganda clips, why not just accept the things the way they are now and just go with the flow.
PvD (and all musicians in general) should stick to what they do best - making music - and quit trying to make political statements and lay off the "holier than thou" attitude. It's insulting. |
