Ex-officer charged with murder in BART shooting

27 year old Johannes Mehserle was charged today with murder after fleeing to Nevada and being caught.

Nice way to show your innocence, by running away to another state and trying to hide out.

i dont see whats so special about this article since tons of people flee the state/province after they commit a crime... unless it is the first time you've heard of this.

This event is getting a lot of coverage world wide. The man who shot the suspect and then fled is a police officer. There's more to it. Don't know if you heard of the recent even involving Oscar Grant?

from that video, its easy to believe that he thought it was a taser. he looks so surprised at what just happened and looks like he was trying to explain his mistake to the other cop. doesn't look like a hot-headed, abusive cop

any idea what the BART-issued tasers look like. in a panic, could a relatively young officer mistaken a taser for a real gun?

Pretty sure tasers don't have a pistol grip or a trigger, and pretty sure pistols have a safety trigger. Yeah.
