i usually order this if i'm in Milwaukee...
otherwise i just go for whatever is cheapest. i rarely drink hard alcohol and if i do it's always mixed drinks, so i don't think it makes sense to splurge. i'd rather spend my hard-earned drinking money on tasty beers or wine. |

You failed Mr. Weatherby. There is already a thread for this. And since you know about the search button......;)
But in any event, here is a link to the thread in question. |

I agree. They still market themselves as "the best tasting vodka in the world" and it's been 11 years since they won any significant awards, and have since been bought out. It's the only vodka I've had that strangely tastes more smooth when it's warm than cold... hard smell and burn aftertaste. They are just masters of marketing like Absolut.
Best tasting vodkas that you can buy in the U.S. IMO: Jean Marc XO, Kauffman, Jewel of Russia Ultra, Hangar 1, Stoli Gold, Bong.... and maybe a couple others.
There are some from Russia that I wish I could find here that are amazing. Grey Goose, Absolut, Skyy, Ciroc... blech. Just good advertisting. |

| I like hanger 1 and jewel of russia a lot. I'd say they are definitely the best. |

Fixed. :p
Quite honestly, it is either Belvedere or Grey Goose that people like. Few like both. :) |

In a nutshell,You do...but you have to actually try it. The best are for sipping and not shots/mixing. Im more of a tequila guy so I will use that as the example. The college crowd ( generalize ) may think Patron is "great" and that cuervo is . Thats because they havent tried "Cuervo de la Familia". Most dont know about it so cuervo is written off as . My favorite ( at a reasonable price) is Don Julio, so smooth and tasty.
|
That's the one that's always bothered me about Cuervo. They make a really good tequila, but it's not the one that everyone buys/stocks in bars. It's this weird hard to find stuff :p
Milagro (I think that's how it's spelled) is a pretty good tequila too.

I've had this, it's surprisingly good. What was their schtick on this? It's organic or something right?
One of my favorite vodkas was this Polish potato vodka I bought at Trader Joe's. |
