I don't think I have heard a single thing from Omar S, so I am going to wait until this mix comes out and I'll see how I like it.
Fabric will release Fabric 45: Omar-S on March 16 in the UK and April 7 in the US. |

Hopefully we're not the only two who are out of the loop as I've never heard anything from Omar-S either :wtf:
Pulling a Villalobos, hopefully he can back it up. |

He can back it up.
Almost all of his stuff is released on vinyl only, so those who don't play records might not be too familiar with him. If i had to compare him to anyone, I guess I would say Theo Parrish, yet i would not paint him as being exactly the same. Deep and moody Detroit house and tech, with great percs. |

| Sounds promising enough. Definitely interested. |

| Did anyone check out John Tejada's comp? |

| Yeah - it is fantastic, real Fabric floor material. This will be in my top album list for 2009. Definitely pick up if you can. |

Omar-s is the best thing to come out of detroit in a long time imo.. He produces a lot of great records.
He has enough variation to keep a mix with all his own production interesting but I still feel its a bit self indulgent to do it this way. |

| best Omar S production for me is Omar-S - Psychotic Photosynthesis imo. |

He's so ing cocky though:
"I don't need other people's music; I got over 100 songs released. I can make ing six ing Fabric records right now. I can probably make ing ten CDs just of unreleased ."

ricardo's grew on me and i ended up being happy he did it this way. Omar is not deadmau5, so it won't be a whole cd of stuff that sounds the same. If you can make a cd with a bunch of tracks that sound different, there really is no difference than playing other peoples tracks is there?
A Victim is simply massive. |

nice! i'm looking forward to checking this out.
but, i can't help but dislike the ignorance of "the crowd" who jump on good sounds because theyre getting some wider reconition, through, for example, the fabric mix cd series. i was in a hmv music shop a while ago when a group of people near me picked up robert hood's fabric cd; one said that "i've heard that this mix is supposed to be really good" - and then proceeded to the checkout with it. call me elitist but do you get my point? |
