Read the interview, he doesn't buy records anymore and generally doesn't give a crap about other music that's out there. It's not self-promotion, this is just how he does it. |
allegedly; he also says that he likes to make people mad, just to get a reaction. |

i seen him last year play the sub club in glasgow and I can asure you he plays records that are not his own production.. That interview is also taken from a few months after he released a mix cd on his own label which features plenty of stuff that isn't his own work..

Personally I have issue with someone using a mix cd platform to essentially put out an artist album. That said, is that what Omar S's live sets are? I've never heard a set from him. |
yeah, that's what his live sets are basically |

i can't help but dislike the ignorance of "the crowd" who jump on good sounds because theyre getting some wider reconition, through, for example, the fabric mix cd series. i was in a hmv music shop a while ago when a group of people near me picked up robert hood's fabric cd; one said that "i've heard that this mix is supposed to be really good" - and then proceeded to the checkout with it. call me elitist but do you get my point? |

i might as well explain what i meant in the first place:
maybe im wrong, but would you agree with me when i say that some people jump on the bandwagon to be fashionable? particularly when the likes of dj mag or resident advisor tell you that something is good? |

buuuuuuuuuuump
Isn't this out? Anybody got their hands on this one yet?
I find it funny how they call it "Omar S - Detroit" instead of "Fabric 45 - Omar S". Probably because most people have no idea who Omar S is so they need to associate him with Detroit in order to give people an idea of what he's all about. |
