Gui Boratto - Take My Breath Away (March 23rd, 2009)

The album, entitled Take My Breath Away, is once again a collection of tunes aimed as much for the heart as it is for the feet. Boratto signature big synths and propulsive drum programming are present throughout its eleven tracks, but while many of the songs aim for the same audience that loved his dance floor stuff the last time around on Chromophobia, tunes like "Colors" and "Azzurra" are downtempo excursions that could conceivably bring his work to a new audience.

A little birdie told me this album is pretty weak compared to Chromophobia.

I'm still checking this thing out by the time it gets released of course. Loved Chromophobia.

Yes I didnt like the album really
It really is mediocre compared to the greatness of Chromophobia

I liked No Turning Back the most, really has a Beautiful Life vibe written over it :)

I really don't see how this album could be bad. Boratto is a brilliant producer and unless he decides to throw in 5 pop vocals then I can't see him ing this up.

I dont think he's gonna change it much anymore

Maybe I come over a bit too harsh, coz ofcourse I really like Gui's stuff normally. But maybe I just hoped for another Chromophobia, which to me it really isnt :)
There's some tracks that I quite like but Chromophobia was an eargasm all the way

As I said No Turning Back, with the Beautiful Life-style vocals, really hits it for me!!
The album has some decent downtempo tracks also but they don't seem to reach greatness as much as I had hoped :)

There's only 1 vocal track if I remember correctly: No Turning Back

It's not bad but just doesn't achieve the same level as Chromophobia

So you wanted another Chromophobia, and obviously he's chosen to evolve instead. That really doesn't say much about how good or bad the album is, rather its just not what you wanted, and for all we know you could have for taste. And if your into Gui's music, you wouldn't leak info about the new album and sell the idea that its not that great. You ain't adding up son. Im actually more excited because its not Chromophobia, so thanks for that bit of info.

haha you dont have to take it personal or something
as you can read in the previous posts Im just stating my opinion and that I think its not up to the high standard of Chromophobia

I never said it was a bad album, I said it was mediocre (which later I even took back coz it may have sounded too harsh) compared to Chromophobia in my opinion

Furthermore I also didnt want another Chromophobia (not that that would be bad either), you never heard me say that... I just had hoped for the same level of brilliance
On the evolving part, it's not that far from being another Chromophobia btw

Way to twist my words and take them out of context, you should go into politics :)

PS I also really like Azzurra ;)
