Your "sleeper" VST

When I say Sleeper, I mean a VST that is not commonly talked about. Some examples NOT to use would be Nexus, Z3ta+, Blue, Albino, Vanguard, Gladiator, Korg Legacy, etc.

My sleeper:

I personally love "Octopus" from Linplug. It's kind of expensive ($129) as an "uncommon" VST but it produces some quality sounds. If you have some extra cash and are looking for a good sequencing VST then check this puppy out. It is fantastic for atmospheric effects.

Is FM8 a "sleeper"?

Otherwise I'd choose Shuniji ( http://www.hgf-synthesizer.de/se/shuniji/shuniji.html ), or EastWest Vapor ( http://www.kvraudio.com/get/993.html ). Those two can make the most outstanding pads I've ever heard.
Subtle
Alien 303, a must for psy basslines and acid lines, good filler for bass.

Edit: Cybernetika this should be something you would like if u havent tested it yet.

FM8 is not a sleeper, I don't think. The other sure are, and that pad comment has me curious.

I need to quit asking questions or I'm going to have to foreclose my house (just kidding, but I've been spending too much on production lately)

Crystal.

Its a free VSTi that has more useful sounds than multi hundred dollar Vsti's.

Google : Crystal VSTi. Enjoy.

3xOsc

That's all you really need to know about Sleeper VSTs.

The generic sound is hyperly overused though.

For Logic users: ES2. Highly capable, and sounds fantastic. 3 OSCS, dual LFO, FX chain, analog "mode", unison, tons of waveforms, flexible mod matrix, and the oft-unused vector mode.

Unfortunately, you can only get it with Logic.

Golden ASET.

It's basically a rompler with a very simple subtractive synth built in. But you can make some really nice, spacey pads with it.

:D

DigiNut
Anything from Ugo.

And I want to say Reaktor, because even though the name is well-known, most people really have no clue how to use it.
