good minimal, heavy hitting stuff for club settings
|
Even for a club that's ing boring. It just drags on and on with the same weak rhythm. It's because of exactly this kind of elitism that it took me over a year to accept any minimal techno at all.
For a club, I want music I can dance to. That track is nothing but an oompaloompa bass-kick combo with some random 808ish electro sounds thrown in. There's no way I'd let myself get subjected to a whole night of this without some serious drugs - I'd be back out that door before the half-hour mark.
Seems that there's never any shortage of douchebags to insist that any palatable form of art is tawdry "mainstream" potboiler and that the only true form of expression is some cryptic garbage that you'd have to be super high to enjoy. Yeah, you're really living on the edge buddy. Good luck with that. |

some cryptic garbage? imo lack of taste on your behalf
federico milani is a boss producer with really dope sounds, supported by all major jocks in his field and especially this year he is been on hot fire, and even mainstream djs like the ones you prolly heard of and like, like richie hawtin, play his tracks even tho may not be exactly their style. That guy is signed to some of the best minimal techno labels around including bosphorus underground, 303 lovers and autist. I think he has like 5 tunes on beatport minimal top 100 at the same time, imo good indication that his tunes are not garbage (in some cases it is not good indication, for example if something got released out on minus/cocoon/kompakt/bpitch/wagon repair etc.. then ppl often just automatically buy it (esp with minus and cocoon) regardlessly of whether it is good or not, but for a rather underground producer imo its a good indication)
To add to that Beatport Best minimal artist nomination is most likely going to go to Ahmet Sendil (or potentially Kanio) and they both play similar stuff. Its interesting to find out whether you regard them as cryptic garbage too? maybe in Canada they're not that widely known but people who really know their regard them as cutting edge minimal techno. Cryptic garbage? I'd say mathew dear, villalobos or marc houle (or loads of other mainstream minimal artists including minilogue too by the way) are much more cryptic (garbage or not is debatable depending on the preference), with their slower pace, most random out of whack sounds and loads of glitches. |

lol, you posted such cheese tho. Only carl cox vid is decent but then again there is loads of better hard techno djs than carl cox cause that guy is not consistent and is all over the place with his selections. |
Yah I didn't really look to hard for examples but I woldn't say that was cheese...
And that's old Cox...
He's def slowed down to the opposite end of the spectrum these days...
LOL...
Child of the Universe......
Now THATS cheese... |

you should read the nyta forums. I just wrote a review that spoke about 3 black ghetto tranny's in heels and mini's, a cop, a heroin addict and one of the tranny's trying to beat up the addict with the hammer that he/she conveniently has in his/her purse.
gotta love NYC. :disbelief |

Wow, that was like reading some World of Warcraft gamer drone on about his Lv.9 monk or hearing about the newest Academy Award for Best Use of a Traditional Toaster in a Gay Sex Scene Depicted By Sock Puppets. As long as some fad's got more than, oh, a dozen or so followers, there are going to be people selling it and there are going to be popularity contests.
I geeve who signed him or who voted for him in some contrived competition. All I know is that the track made me want to splash some paint on my wall so I could watch it dry. |

I personally haven't written any reviews recently because it's been a while since I've been to a party that's inspired me to do so. |
