I ing screamed and he started laughing hysterically. He thought it would be funny scaring the out of me because of all the stabbing that goes in in the movie.

I swear whenever I think about that month, it seems surreal. |

Well that makes me feel better. We broke up because, well, we were at different points of our lives (I wanted a relationship, he realized he wasn't done being single) which I can't be angry at him for.
When he told me, I didn't cry or beg. I just said 'okay' because, even though it hurt so much (he's the only guy I ever came close to loving) I knew it was for the best. I didn't text or talk to him for a few days, we exchanged our things and that was pretty much it. I invited him to a movie with some friends a few weeks later but he didn't go. He called me for my birthday, but after that we never spoke again.
Then I mailed him a gift for his birthday a few months later.
I'd like to be his friend again, someday. Right now, though, its still a pretty sore area. |

If a girl I haven't spoken to in a while sent me a birthday gift, I would be a little wary, no matter how close we were. I guess two months is not that long to not talk, yet still. That's just me though. I don't expect gifts from people unless I'm REALLY close to them, like see / talk to them multiple times a week.

1 and 2 sound like they just have some issues. 3 is definitely crazy. |

Since we ended on fairly good terms, I figured it was okay (I made sure I asked ALL my male friends for their opinion) and considering it was a small gift, and his birthday, they didn't see any harm.
They also thought it was a good way to 'extend the olive branch'.
See, I have a problem with expressing myself when it comes to caring for people: lovers, parents, friends etc. So I buy them things that they need or want in order to show I care. Thats not to say I am a cold fish. I love to cuddle, and touch, but when it comes to me really expressing how I feel, its hard. |

| I dated a girl in high school who had an obsession with Prince. She kept giving me burned Prince cd's. She wore purple almost everyday. Our conversations oddly always led to Prince. To top it off, her parents were ultra-strict. When I'd take her out to the movies or the mall, her mom was always there in the same vicinity. Not with us, but just there, lurking. That lasted a month. When I broke up with her over the phone, she went into her closet and started crying hysterically. I was kind of like..."wtf...?" Unfortunately, we went to the same very small high school (only 20 graduating students), and so the next year, I had a chemistry class with her, and she sat right behind. Constantly hurled insults at me until I just turned around in the middle of class, and in front of everyone asked, "Can you stop being a stupid little bitch and shut the up?" That seemed to do the trick. |

My ex flipped out when she found out I had myspace, first she made me delete every girl on my friends list and then she asked me to delete the entire profile. Sad thing is that is about a 3 out of 10 on the crazy things she did scale.

I don't think that men and women are SO different - but I think men have more issues than women. And I find it amusing that men think we're SO difficult to figure out... and yet all of you seem to think you HAVE figured it out!
- and yes, clearly if you've been with someone for a few years, you start to recognize patterns and you known them well enough to understand their insecurities or motivations behind their actions.
And I have found in my travels, that men have just as many, if not more issues, than women. And I've dated some ing CRAZY men. And I see them everywhere.
So the standard that only women can lose their minds, is ridiculous. |

Sarah, the thing is, we're discussing "dating crazy chicks," as the topic says. Banora gets a pass, because her accountant-boyfriend was 1st class crazy. Nobody's implying that there's only "crazy girls" and not men, but, in my opinion, there's more of girls.
Note that no one in this thread has mentioned that either of us "figured you out" and we're not claiming that all women are like that (although there were mentions of all women being crazy). We're talking about psycho women here.
As for your "we're not that difficult to figure out" belief. Let's keep up with the generalizations: you yourselves can't figure yourselves out. In my experience, women do stuff they don't even recognize they do (like use every one of their friends for benefit and without guilt) and when confronted about such behavior, they get very defensive and explode. As for guys, I can't really pass judgment since I have not dated any guys, but in my opinion if a guy is doing something that can be considered bad behavior, he's doing it for a reason, understanding that it's bad. But I really don't want to get into this "man vs. women" debate, because it's not the point of the thread. |

Deeds are more important than words, so don't worry about this.
My ex was a bit similar. I don't think she ever told me she loved me (it was a 3,5 years long relationship btw) but from her actions I knew she cared a lot. |
