Way Out West - We Love Machine (New Album) (pg. 13)

Well, that's personal taste. I thought Ultraviolet was the best track, and a lot of people in this thread mentioned it as a highlight. The main point is the album lacks any clear-cut brilliant tracks to match WOW highlights of old. This album would be a career high-point for many producers, but you come to a WOW album with raised expectations.

Yea, I think it's related to the energy that it possesses...but it runs out of steam on a few occasions for me. :)

I've also said it before but when you've already done so much, it can indeed be difficult to better (and sometimes even live up to) your best.

Only time I've heard anything related to Way Out West was their remix of Suburban Train. Really dig the track Only Love.

Now checking out Intensify. Was their first album really that good? I may have to get that as well.

Their first album was definitely my favourite, although I'm a renowned fanboy of epic mid-90s progressive, and probably their most important.

I enjoyed Way Out West and Intensify, worth checking out.

I'm about to grab Don't Look Now off amazon to fill in the gap.

You are missing a lot. The debut was seminal, released on Deconstruction (Sasha's label at the time), fusing dynamic layered proghouse with breaks and dubby influence as well. I'm biased (see my review here) but all 4 albums are worth owning, with the debut still remaining my fave ("Intensify" review is available here). That Tiesto remix of theirs is very middle-of-the-road. They've got hours upon hours of quality remixes, with some of the best able to be sampled freely here:

(there's a 5th one underway)

I really like the Tiesto remix. Probably the track that got me started on progressive. It's one of my summer anthems.

Hard copy arrived in the mail (along with T-shirt) a couple of days ago. Only took a month from the time of pre-ordering. ;)

Henry Saiz Remix of "Future Perfect" appeared this week:

Even though only one remix was commissioned, he made sure to furnish something pretty epic.

Rumor is a remix album is forthcoming (of the WLM tracks).

Finally, it would appear Deconstruction is getting ready to re-release "The Gift" in 2010 as a part of their return to the fore and this will be better than a remaster (as was done with "Xpander") and will instead be an entirely new remix.

Did anyone get the t-shirt? If so what's it like? Comfortable? Good design? Hard to tell from the small picture on the site.
vinnie97
Yea, it's just your typical T-shirt with the WOW acronym (in the same font as seen on their homepage), 3 arrows pointing down from said acronym and the name of the album directly beneath that.
