You guys should have exchanged your money today. I believe the canadian dollar closed at around 1.147 this morning. I bet by tomorrow its on its way back up.

Of course your bank is the best rate.... depending on the bank they normally add a extra penny or so to the actual rate for a cut.

Are they requiring passports now for people driving across the border, or is that still just for flights?

(Maybe somebody already asked, but there's no way I'm sifting through 22 pages just to find out)

Better safe than sorry. Pretty sure that's what we showed them last year at the border. Mind you, we also got a full search, lol. :mad:

2.5% usually. And the market rate currently sits at 1.135 or 88.1 US

what Jay said...

Land and water ports of entry
(until May 31, 2009)

Since January 31, 2008, and until May 31, 2009, Canadian citizens entering the United States by land or water must present one of the following valid documents:

* a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence, PLUS a birth certificate or citizenship card;
* a passport;
* a NEXUS card;
* a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card;
* an enhanced driver's licence (EDL) or an enhanced identification card (EIC) from a province where a U.S.-approved EDL/EIC program has been implemented; or
* a Certificate of Indian Status.
* For those aged 18 years and under, only proof of Canadian citizenship, such as an original or a photocopy of a birth certificate, or citizenship card, is required.

During this transition period, travellers who do not present the appropriate documents may be delayed while U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers attempt to verify their citizenship and identity. Travellers may also be given an information sheet explaining the new procedures. The intent of this transition period is to raise awareness of the change, educate travellers and allow ample time for them to obtain the necessary documents.

Note: Canadian citizens entering the United States by land but exiting by air must present a valid passport or a NEXUS card in compliance with U.S. air exit requirements. Refer to the air travel requirements for more information.

I used my citizenship card and OHIP card...we got searched prior to the document requests cos someone forgot where we were going when asked.

A'ight, passport it is.

So I've obviously thrown everything together at the last minute here but I thought I'd mention, if anyone's still looking to share a ride then give me a shout. Won't affect my plans either way, but it would ease up on the boredom. :cool:

Who forgot what now? I don't think that's why we got searched dude. Besides, I told the guy right away what we were doing...which is more likely the reason we got pulled over.

I've created a list of tasks for myself this year:

- Write another comment in the Book of Bad Ideas
- Find Troy and then escape from him
- Get an autograph from Mr. Tophat (with help from Katy)
- Make someone walk the plank on the boatcruise (with Nata)
- Find a replacement for Ducklet (:( RIP)
- Have a fake interview with a deejay
- "Why Hello There" Detroit stylez
- Find my Detroit Fey twin
- Capture a GWARTQZ video with as many people as possible

That's all for now.. I encourage everyone to make their own + give me some more tasks. This is serious business folks!

it was the manner we answered that seemed vague to them imo.

I guess...I mean George *was* all like "duhhhh uhhhh", and then I had to step in. Lol. And then I'm sure once they saw you in the back it just confirmed their suspicions that we were terrorist ravers, lololol.
