Reaktor 5 is a modular soft synth - that's not similar to a Virus at all. It looks you guys are just throwing out the names of your favorite synths now (like that hasn't been done a million times already) without even comparing them to a Virus??? |
The Reason why i even said Reaktor 5 was because you can make your own synths on it and it has wavetables synthesis! Am i right? And as for being a modular synth is that what the virus is trying to be a modular synth with out any cables? |

Uh, no. Sylenth1 is not even close to a Virus. One look at the spec sheets for each synth will show you that. Sylenth1 is a very simple and very limited software synth relative to almost every soft synth in its price range and, especially, when compared to a Virus. It's strength is that it is a very simple synth, but sounds good and has good trance presets.
Now, before you Sylenth1 fanboys get your panties in a bunch, re-read the OP's question. He is asking which synth is "similar" to a Virus. |
He didn't distinguish between sound and capability, though intrinsically linked, for the main type of sounds used in trance they sound alike. But he didn't say what genre he wanted to produce either. I don't know where I am................ it's getting dark...... |

Ugh. Idiot. We already told you, there's two. There will never be a native virus VST, so don't even bother hoping. Just go buy one or settle for the Waldorf Largo VSTi due out soon. |

They will never bring out a standalone VST(i) as it would kill their company which is exactly what happened to Waldorf. They made great hardware synths then stupidly brought out software that did exactly the same thing for a fraction of the cost and in many cases free (cracks). Waldorf died and the brand name was sold. |

Interesting theory, but they're doing it again. Waldorf Largo is to be released soon. I doubt it will sound as good as the Blofeld, though. |
