as far as the weather goes... it got pretty chilly last year during DEMF. it was nice enough during the day for me to wear a skirt and tank top at the festival, but once the sun set (and in the morning hours) i needed jeans and a sweater. people were all bundled up in jackets at Old Miami on monday morning.

my $500 included a hotel room that i split with 3 other people, roundtrip train ticket from Milwaukee, weekend pass for the festival, afterparty event tickets, and all my food/alcohol expenses. granted, it may cost more if you're flying up from FL and aren't splitting the cost of lodging.

Tru. I'll make sure I wear jeans. I wouldn't want to freeze my punani at night :)

its all about the walgreens on the corner of collins and lincoln. i always bring a backpack and stock up on those premade deli sangwiches, headache medicine, and those huge 2 liter bottles of evian.

Sooooo good. I'm always sure to stop by Pizza Papilis too.

As for Miami...I always stay somewhere with a kitchenette...pasta is cheap, easy to cook when wasted. Oh yeah, and Pizza Rustica is a must.

the best meal i had in Miami was the $100 hamburgers and vodka cocktails for 3 people at our poolside bar/grill at the Fontainebleau... signed by someone who wasn't on our reservation, therefore we never got charged for it.

fyi - they just did a complete remodel of all the rooms at the athenium. pictures look pretty sweet. got the room for 150, 50 bucks cheaper then last year and ever room is a suite. don't know if that rate is still available though.

Stayed there this past August...rooms are very nice now, comfy beds, 2 flat screens, and a place to get smokes and 40s across the street.
