It wouldn't make sense to enable VST use in Reason because the whole idea of Reason is being able to manipulate the rack of synths, effects, and cables. This won't work very well unless each synth and FX unit is programmed by Propellerhead. |

4 simple effects...
The same filter, sweep, crusher and hamonic that are on the Pioneer DJM 800 mixer!! Simple to use, awesome results!! |

Things I would like to see in future versions of Reason:
1. Improved filter-bank tool, with comb filters and steeper HP and BP filters, and also a dual filter mode. You can already get all of that stuff through routing, of course, but it would be great to have it all in one device.
2. A full-fledged FM synth. Maybe an additive synth as well.
3. A lot more samples in the soundbank. |

Reason needs to be priced better if it's considered a standalone instrument. Propellerheads once said if you want vst, midi or other DAW tools then just re-wire Reason into a DAW.
My point is, why the hell would I want to buy Reason if I already owned a DAW? Most decent DAWs only cost a couple hundred more than Reason and are usually bundled with their own collection of synths, fx and other stuff.
So, Reason needs to either be better self-contained (ie plugin support, audio tools and full midi) or priced more competitively. |
i think that reason must be better self-contained |

The synths it has now are awesome so no real need for new ones for the next release imo.
I'd like to see Dr.Rex 2, a device able to handle loops in a more extensive way. (kind of like what NN-xt and the NN19).
I'd also like to see an updated delay and filter section, they're getting outdated by now.
and last but not least a wet dream would be if they added a IR reverb :D |
