I would tell you tough too. My friends and family always slip back and forth from Spanish to English depending on what they are saying and who they are talking to. It just makes more sense sometimes, especially when you have two natives speakers talking to each other.

I know it is difficult for me to think in English and translate that exactly into Spanish and vice-versa.

try this slylee

i have a buddy from florida who lived in montreal and he used this and can speak ok now. He has a really heavy accent, but you can understand what he is saying.

spanish is overplayed. i want to learn mandarin

ya, i only speak spanish when everyone in the room speaks spanish. I feel awkward talking to someone in spanish when the person next to me doesnt understand.

Only if they are there with me though, if i am at a restaurant or something, ill speak spanish and could care less what the people on other tables think.

another thing he mentioned is that a lot of times they are talkign about stuff like money and work (they work together) and he was like "it's personal stuff that is between me and him and im not gonna bring it up in english in front of you". so i was like fine whatever.

and thanks jay. i'll check it out. i have a natural talent for learning languages and accents...always have. it's easy for me to pick up foreign languages. when i was living in japan i was speaking conversational japanese like right away and i could tell the difference between all the asian languages too.

i wish they were spanish lol i already know and understand like 70% of spanish...now i gotta start all over with another language:mad:

yea i definitely plan on learning french, i was gonna post that and forgot. i really love this guy and i think he is it for me and i know i'm it for him (he told me) so i should just learn french. quebecois sounds different than regular french. it's choppier and not as gay sounding.

but i mean i've already told him it bothers me and he was basically like tough lol

its not that rude, im sure he doesnt really do it on purpose, like when i was with my friend in barcelona and we met some german guys, we finally all became friends and when we were speaking, we spoke german but when i was speaking to my friend , we were speaking in french and same for them speaking german between each other.
but then we tried of course to speak english so everyone could understand.

then again i would advice you to speak proper french, quebecois is not really french , its a mix.
