Yeah righto noob. I still use vinyl as it really sounds better and ableton because you can blow peoples heads off with it when used well. Each to their own, some tunes only get vinyl release which is really no biggie to convert to digital but digital only releases aren't cheap to press to vinyl, but that's where cdj's come in if you really can't stand laptops. I really can't see any formats disappearing.

Anybody who can beatmatch can hit a sync button. Somebody who can't beatmatch can only hit a sync button.

I have more respect for somebody who is working harder to accomplish a task. Its more fun and makes it more challenging. That's the difference!

Great analogy, but you realize that the only person it makes a difference to is the driver/dj? So basically you're saying it's less 'fun' for the dj. So it's a matter of preference with no effect on anyone other than the driver.

As for the "respect for someone working harder to accomplish a task": it makes me think of those kinetic visual artists that paint by flinging buckets of paint/object covered with paint/theirselves at a canvas... sure they're working harder, but in the end it's just a muddy pile of paint on the canvas. Point being, just because you work hard to make it doesn't mean it's not crap, and in the end it's all about whats coming out of the speakers.

Overall, I think this whole meduim thing only applies to people who go to a club to watch a dj on stage.

would you be ok if there were no DJ in sight at all in a club? like in restaurants and pizza cafes..

Future of DJing lies in jars of marmalade and empty, plastic, 1 gallon jugs.

Invest now.

Absolutely. A little club I used to visit in college had the dj basically in a closet with a tiny little window that opened to the dancefloor. I think it's totally possible to enjoy a dj without seeing their jesus pose.

Totally agree with this. Generally, DJ's really aren't that exciting to watch imo, however there are a few exceptions.

What do you guys think. My turntable just broke. Do I get a tech 12 to go with my current, which I run serato, or do I get a cdj 200 and do a mix of Vinyl and CD with serato
