Jindal?
He's probably the Republicans' best hope in 2012... seems fairly competent, and he's a Rhodes Scholar to boot... but his history with strange religious practices doesn't bode well for the Christian Party.

! I have to agree (and you know I don't like that, Lebez). I really like him, he's made major headway in routing out corrupt practices in one of the most corrupt states, he obviously handles emergencies better than other guys (W), truly believes in fiscal conservatism, and refuses to take stimulus money.... BUT, this religion business isn't helping AT ALL.
He's usually a lot better than what we just saw too. I've never seen him so wooden and nervous before (and ass kissy). Weird. He needs to act like he's been there before next time. |

I agree. He definitely did not look loose. |

And it was like he didn't know what Obama was going to say... as Josh Marshall puts it, did he really just play the "raise taxes" card after Obama got passed a stimulus bill composed of 40% tax cuts - the second-largest tax cut signed into law in American history? |

They're all over here still:

;)
Thankfully still in the past.
Posting funny pictures from somewhere isn't plagiarism - just arguments verbatim. |

ugh... this could co back and forth all night. It is also the largest government spending spree in american history, while we have a major deficit. Much of those "tax cuts", as we've already discussed, are in the form of rebate checks given to those who pay no income taxes to begin with, hence should be called what they are: welfare checks. Much of these tax cuts will also be counteracted when the Bush tax cuts expire soon. It's a smoke screen! |

Whatever it is, it effectively cut off the Republican 2012 rallying cry - the tax card isn't what it used to be. |

| The tax code is so complex that I'm not sure anyone really understands. It seems like any politician can find a way to piece together an argument that benefits their cause and sounds like it makes sense to the public. It's just a matter of who can build a better looking version... you know what I mean? |
