Don't buy any cd's. I download all the music I need and either burn it onto cd's or put it in my mp3 player. You'd be amazed at how much money you can save when you stop paying for cd's. :D

That's so lame.

Try and support the music scene for a change. Buy the originals.. Gives you much more satisfaction too. CDR's are ugly :)

Thats true - I love both: originals and MP3s! When I download a good good song I often buy the single/album a few days/weeks later. I dont hear to audio cds very often, but my big cd collection simply looks great! :-)

i dont buy cds simply coz i cant - here in bulgaria you cant find an original trance cd for sale, the distribution companies just dont release them here. so im burning... and i can proudly say that the music scene doesnt lose anything from my burning - after all i couldnt buy something thats not sold, can i??

That's not true.

I used to (and still Dl) a tonne of cds but if I liked them , I went out and bought them. If the cd was crap, I deleted it and didn't buy it. Now with the RIAA shutting down means of getting those files to test drive, and effectively shutting down internet radio, how am I supposed to listen to the tunes before I buy? It's exactly the same as buying a car. How many of you would go out and buy a 40000 dollar car over the phone. You haven't test driven it. You haven't inspected it. You are going in blind. I doubt many of you would do that. I don't do that with my music.

And to all you poeple who argue that the artist gets screwed by people like me. Think again. Do you know how much the typical artist gets off a cd? maybe 13 cents a unit. That is nothing. Bands make most of their money from shows and merch. How are people gonna come to shows if they have never heard of them?

I will buy CDs from indie bands but only directly through the band.
No middle man.

exactly...
