Figure out: (1) how many total dance music fans there are and (2) what percentage of fans try to make the stuff. Then multiply those two figures by one another and you have a rough answer.

me googled on da intranet "Electronic Music Fans" and got fortyfive ten triplezero.

me then went and googled "percentage of fans who produce" and got 19, 5 zeros.

when me multipliez em togefa and got 85 Sixty Nine *booya* and a whole lot of zeros.

assumin dat all these buy one glove at 19.99,we gets

Maybe as many EDM producers as there are producers and artists in all other genres.

I kind of doubt that. It's a lot easier to get into EDM production than it is to get into producing most other stuff. All you need is a net connection; then download a cracked copy of a sequencer and some VSTs, and off you go. Don't even need to learn to play an instrument...

there is also the merging of the artist and producer, which are usually seperate from one another.

If people hear "Dj Tiesto-Love Comes again" and arent familiar with the EDM world, they assume he is the vocalist.

About your first suggestion, do you think this site would be an overall average proportion of producers vs regular fans? I beleive its more populated on the producer compared to a global average, whereas a worship forum like AVB.com would be the opposite.

Yeah exactly. Thats why i think there are as many EDM producers as there are artists and producers in all other genres all together.

Many other genres have existed twice or three times as long however, gotta take that into account. ;O)

No, but you need to know how to use the program.
Many more people play an instrument than people who don't, but start experimenting with a pc.
At least looking around me it seems that way.

If you're implying that the complexity of learning to play an instrument is even comparable to that of learning "how to use the program", you should seriously consider committing seppuku right about now. Go ahead and do something useful for this world, for once.

I was about to give you a serious answer, but since I probably just get stupic comment from you I won't.
