Has anybody else been watching this season? The last episode of the entire series is this week, and the show really has returned to form. I'm too young to have followed from the beginning (15 years ago), but no other drama running right now has been as consistent for so long.
I'm curious to see how they're going to wrap up some of the story lines, esp. with all the previous cast members coming back for the finale.
Had to pick up the first two seasons on DVD... this series would be a lot of fun to pick up from the beginning and watch all the way through.

great theme song.
I think I saw a load of episodes pre season 9 when i was really young-but pretty much nothing after Mark greene's death. I was really young watching this since my older sister was obsessed(she watched every episode Im pretty sure). I think i developed a fear of hospitals and emergency rooms because that was too much to take in at that age.
I just cant see how the show could have stayed consistent after getting rid of all the great characters. John carter, luka, dr benson, dr greene were my favourites...that said I havent watched the show since season 10 or so I havent been able to develop a rapport with the new cast, so It looks like an entirely different show to be honest.
hasn't Law and order been running for longer than ER? or do you not think it was as consistent?

man! I can't believe that show is still on. I stopped watching it after Clooney left...lol. If only NYPD Blue would have been on for 15 years :(

That's about when I stopped watching too, but then I picked it up again about midway through last season and it's gotten quite good. Some of the newer characters took awhile to develop, but they've flushed out well now.

I've heard that there were some definite down years, but a few of the characters now are pretty well-established (Angela Bassett, Neela, etc.), and now they're bringing back all the old characters (Carter, Weaver, Eric LaSalle, Juliana Margeles, George Clooney, etc.)

Good ensemble dramas are kind of my guilty pleasure (West Wing, ER, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, etc.)

west wing isn't a 'guilty' pleasure! that is superb.

Very true, I should never have said that. I have Seasons 1-4 + 6 basically memorized, and know Season 7 pretty well too. Nothing on television has ever come close to the writing of Aaron Sorkin on The West Wing.
