Best way to start and end a set

I was thinking about all of the good starters and finishers, and I came to these two.

Start: Robert Miles - Children (Dream Version)
End: Nu-NRG - Dreamland

start and end with pianos.
Robert Miles has a great intro, one of the most beautiful, and gets you ready for the set.
Dreamland has been a very popular finisher because of the insane buildup, it's great.

What do you think are the best ways to start and end a set? (they should go together, not one hard trance and the other chillout... :))

I completely agree about Dreamland :) I am now always starting with Fire and Ice - Heart and Mind... so bangin', they start to dance ;)
uwmadtrance
Begin: Aria - Dido (Armin van Buuren's Universal Religion Mix)

Close: Condor II - You Can (Kiss My ...)
Nastarte
the best intro track i have heard is Breeder-Tyrantanic , that track they use before it on NE3 works so perfectly, As an ending track i've always though sasha- expander worked great.
also if you wanted to keep to some pattern
Fibonacci Sequence - Luminescent's Extended Hybrid Mix
as an intro and Hi-Fi Bugs - Lydian & The Dinosaur .
KilldaDJ
start : blank & jones - desire [any mix]
end : werkstadt - d-magic [rare, but bloody good]
Project T
Start: Marco V - GODD
End: CJ Bolland - The Prophet

Religious theme heh

and then a mix of those Gregorian monks in the middle of the set? :)

I try and always start my sets with BT - Dreaming (Original) and end them with Mauro Picotto - Charm.

I like to start off nice and floaty then get harder and more manic as I go on.

isn't it a bit boring to start with the same tunes all time time?
DJ Mikey Mike
Start: Mirco De Govia - Epic Monolith (Sonorous Dub)

or

Start: Slam Feat Tyrone Visionary Palmer - Lifetimes

Finish: Nu Nrg - Dreamland

Not at the moment no. Gimmie a couple of months and maybe a really good opener will come out and it will change.
But Dreaming really does it for me when starting :)

I second that.If you're gonna play this, you HAVE to play it with the intro as well. Here's another suggestion:

Start: Resistance D - You Were There (Jam & Spoon's Light and Laser Remix)
End:Lyric & Natali - Over Emotion (Smart System's Souvenir Mix)
