A lot of good equipment.

FL Studio is just a small piece of the sound pie.

The sound in that track i'd attribute 80% to having good equipment, 20% making use of it properly. So, yah, get some good equipment, learn it, and you too can make good sounding music.

Don't listen to Kimset7, he is widely regarded on this forum as a moron.

The synth sounds like that because the start of the notes are eaten off by a sidechain.

Why do you want to sound like someone else anyway?

pro tip : he can't help you, he knows jack (proven coutnless times), and couldn't even do the things he tells you himself. all he will do is mislead you to think you can get that sort of big sound out of just FL Studio. not even deadmau5 could get that out of just the software in FL Studio lol. So yah...get some good synths, hardware compressors (Deadmau5 would recommend you get a EL Distressor), pre amps for the synths, a good converter, some nice monitors, and a good mastering engineer, and you too can have a nice big sound.

in before more useless throwup from echosysmm.

From what I heard and seen, I heard some similiar sounds in covers like these. Good enough for me. And for a fact Deadmau5 uses fl studio to do rough versions of his songs.

His sound definately sounds like its summed from FL Studio. FL Studio has the thickest sounding summing bus imo. My cousin use to use FL Studio, and everything he would send me would come out sounding big. But FL Studio on its own will only get you so far. A Sequencer is just a small piece of the overall sound. Big sound comes from having good equipment to process your sounds through, and then some engineering skills, and a good master. The idealists will come in here and make themselves feel better about their setup and say otherwise, buh buh software can do things...sure, but they wont get you the same sound. My advice to you would be, work on your musical skills, and when your good at making music, then I would invest in good sound.

Well all you need is FL Studio, why not just message the person who made that cover on youtube. In the longterm though, if you want good sound, you need proper equipment, don't let anyone sell you the idea that you won't. The days of software being a good means of making good sound are kinda coming to an end as more producers are discovering this hasn't been entirely true. And to be competitive in the future you will definately need to keep up with a ever growing savy producer community who have started on software and now are adding hardware where they can afford it. Besides, I don't think software based productions will have the fidelity shelf life of hardware based productions. Im speculating, and this up for debate...In 20 years...the discrepency between the two will start to show more than it already does, and people will be able pick out music "yah this was probably made entirely on software, and this was probably made on hardware."
