well i got a friend here that is possibly late to file his income tax. first of all he tried to do it electronically but couldnt because he dont have a bank account. but anyways, the deadline was on april 15th at midnight. he got everything done before midnight, but since he couldnt do it electronically, he has to print out something and mail it off. so he is gonna mail it first thing tomorrow.
now my question is, is this considered late? i mean, whats gonna happen to him? shouldnt that paper that he printed out have a date and time on it to show when he finished it? what could happen to him? |

| no not me. :D ive already done mine. i dont know about where you are from but seems like in the u.s.a. you will just have to pay a late fee. ive read somewhere that it wont be too bad if he is gonna be mailing it out tomorrow. but me and him wanna know if he will be charged with a late fee for finishing his taxes on time but just mailing it off late. |

As far as I know, it has to be post marked on the 15th to be considered not late. No idea how big the fees are.
I did mine last night online. |

| I really don't understand why people put off doing their taxes. You get your W-2s in the beginning of January, what's stopping you from taking care of it before March? Get it out of the way so you don't have to hassle with it and potentially panic at the last minute, as is the case here. |

post marked as in, having the papers in an envelope with a stamp taken to the post office where they stamp the date on the envelope |
